yes, it was a mad house...and to make things worse most of the Asians would slow things down so they could get overtime to boost their pay, me, I just wanted to get the shift over, I was sick of seeing bloody clothes.

when I went there I went as a picker, but then was put on to putting the picked items in the order that the vans needed them loading in for the shops they were delivering to.
I hated that job, I hated all I had been doing, I didn't think I would be there long...

then I was put in charge of the paperwork on the loading bay...

it was my job to make sure the order for each shop was correct to the delivery note and that it was loaded in the sequence that the driver was delivering.

some shops might have 7 or 8 delivery notes depending on the items they had ordered, I was responsible for making sure all was loaded...

my boss was an Asian called Suquie, again a nice fellow, he had a fair grasp of English...

often I could be heard calling out, in my very loud voice...Richmo

Enjoyed readying Ray.

It's nice to hear that bon-March supported you and recognised your hard work and dedication.

Lad at our work was treated like dirt despite giving 10+ years to the company.

He went for a management vacancy within the company and they decided to give it to someone else from outside the company; who lasted a year in the role before getting the sack. From that point, the relationship with his manager broke down.

He left recently to join the NHS and needed a reference, his manager wouldn't even provide one and he had to ask HR. Nothing was done to try and tempt/reward him to stay, 10+ years of service and he had to go begging to HR to get a reference...
