NEIL Lennon has accelerated his search for a striker after being dealt the bad news that Zach Clough will be missing for the foreseeable future with a dislocated shoulder.
The Whites boss spoke with Phil Gartside yesterday to see what funds are available to bring in a front man as quickly as possible.
Former West Ham and Cardiff City striker Nicky Maynard is just one of the possibilities being examined, with Lennon keen to find someone to add a regular supply of goals to a team that has managed just three in seven competitive games this season.
“The majority of teams have that game-changer; Wolves have got Benik Afobe, Sheffield Wednesday have got Fernando Forestieri, Burnley have got Andre Gray,” he told The Bolton News.
“They all have that player who can make a difference and we’ve maybe lacked that just recently.
“We have our eyes peeled and they are not cheap but we’ll endeavour to change it.”
