A complaint has gone in to Eon regarding their advert which is making this site difficult to use.

It took ages for the home page to load just now and then a Taylors advert appeared at the bottom of the page and then another advert popped up on the side. I know adverts are needed to pay for the site, but it is self defeating when thy turn visitors away from the site.

Had this from Eon Our I.T team are working on taking the adverts down.....

Thanks for your email asking us to take our adverts off your website. I'm sorry for the problems the adverts have caused.

I've been in touch with our I.T team to make them aware of what's going on; they'll be looking into what's happened and try and fix the problem.

Getting an *******er usually do the trick but they don't work on some devices.

I have an ad blocker on all of my devices but all they usually do is slow everything down or fill the screen with images saying 'ad blocked' or I am told the page can't open page because something isn't running and I need to alter my settings. Basically damned if you do, damned if you don't.

That's strange. Never had that problem myself
