I see in the excellent update from the boardroom that Queens are talking to different kit manufacturers
so I hope after playing for lots of seasons now in various shades of blue the powers that be pick a firm
who make shirts in our traditional ROYAL BLUE

We can only hope the commercial department finally get it right this time . A decent kit manufacturer , the more traditional royal blue colour and whilst they're at it a decent club crest on the kit . The one they decided to rebrand the club with a couple of seasons ago is rotten , cheap looking and a truly amateur effort IMO ;)

i know the price of the new kit has to cost effective but it is not rocket science to get the Royal Blue colour correct or
even our original badge as they can be seen in the club shop on the excellent retro shirts made by the company
Toffs ! !

We need to move with the times and use our more modern badge IMO
That one is rank rotten

Club shop selling off ALL Joma stock with 30 per cent off as from Monday 4th January so maybe they have
clinched a deal with a new manufacturer.

My favourite subject, started early this year! I agree with all of you re the colour and the badge and would add my wish for a return to white shorts for the first strip as opposed to blue. I believe that how the team is turned out is really important so hopefully some improvements next term.

Would look good as long as it is ROYAL BLUE not dark blue - don't want to play in Dundee's shirt colour !

Is this the view held by the management at Palmy ?

Wouldn't imagine it is not the view of the management.

Obviously one or two posters have some sort of problem with the commercial team, whatever it is.

Don't think it is a balls up if they pick some sort of shade of blue that doesn't suit everybody.

I can appreciate some people having their own ideas, and a return to a royal blue would be good, but tbh it's not something that I give too much thought to.

Dear JT / Victoria - Don't know if you saw the great game on the TV on Sunday afternoon - Spurs v Leicester
but the away team's strip colour is exactly the Royal Blue that Queens fans want IMO - over to you folks - it
is made by PUMA.

I agree that's its very important for our side to look like a REAL Queen Of The South team. Royal blue top, white shorts and royal blue socks and I will be reminded of some of our great individuals of the past . Over to you Queens . Not light blue , dark blue or whatever . A royal blue QoS top please !

I would be fairly happy with Macron to be honest. With a well designed sponsor on the front (rather than just white lettering) it would look very smart. I couldn't find a way to put a picture up but here are some samples if people are interested.

http://www.macron.com/shop/eu/en/viking-shirt.html (I do like this)
http://www.macron.com/shop/eu/en/strength-jersey.html
http://www.macron.com/shop/eu/en/strength-long-sleeved-jersey.html
http://www.macron.com/shop/eu/en/jupiter-maglia-amb-ner-mm.html
http://www.macron.com/shop/eu/en/talos-set.html
http://www.macron.com/shop/eu/en/mendoza-set.html (Potentially new kit going by our previous kits)
http://www.macron.com/shop/eu/en/vesta-set.html
http://www.macron.com/shop/eu/en/emir-set.html

The one think I do like about Macron is that they do like to establish close working relationships with teams across all levels from their independent outlets.

Some refreshing designs and the Scottish Rugby team use them. Important to choose the correct shade of blue ...

Some of these are horrid. The Mendoza one seems to me to be the best of them. If these are indeed the choices I hope they have the sense to avoid the busier, flashier ones and opt for it. With white shorts, blue socks and no red anywhere. Red has no place on a queens strip imho. The yellow and blue or white would make a decent away kit too. I've liked the all white when we've worn it this season. Oh, and is an embroidered badge a possibility?

Agreed. The blue on these seems like a step in the right direction. Not sure it's the blue we've been speaking of though.

From 1953 to 1960 Queens had Blue shirts (Toffs sell the replica), White shorts and Black socks with a wide Red band - this was the era
of Roy Henderson, Black, McGill, Paterson, Rothera and Oakes etc

Hopefully there is a bit of fan involvement with this kit and we do makes steps back towards the royal blue which we associate with Queens. One thing to note though is that the blue we are currently using is very similar to our original 1919 kit following the merger of Dumfries, 5th KOSB & Arrol-Johnston.

MACRON now confirmed as next kit supplier for 3 years (see OS) so the person who announced this on Pie
and Bovril 3 or 4 days ago was correct and this could only have come from Palmy - strange eh ? Love the
darker blue though and great to get away from the Gers - type lightish blue

VT said "It's great to move forward with Macron. It's the first time in years we have been given the opportunity to design a bespoke home kit that is individual to the club. We're looking forward to this exciting adventure".

Hopefully this means that it will be a completely unique kit that no other team in the country is likely to have. I remember when we first went to Joma and about 3/4 teams all had identical kit in the Scottish League...It took the shine away. This looks a great opportunity and it would be interesting to see if we are added on to the Macron official merchandising site. This could be a huge PR triumph for the club!

Also reported on their official site which is great!

May 1922 - in a local cup final versus Douglas Wanderers from C.D (10 - 1 to Queens) it was the first time
the Doonhamers played in their traditional Royal Blue. In the first few seasons Queens played in a lighter blue
strip inherited from the 5th K.O.S.B. one of the teams that amalgamated to form the present club.

Would love to see the return of a properly embroidered Queens badge again . We seem to be getting things right regarding the strips for the next 3 seasons so we may as well finish it off in style .
I'm pretty confident Macron will produce a great strip and have a great range of leisurewear

The current branding of the Club is, in my opinion, absolutely spot on .

It is clear and instantly recognisable and the right colours too. It encompasses the old and the new so should have wide appeal.

We have taken massive leaps forward in these areas. To think how things were 30/40, even 10 years ago, to now have the Arena and Academy sites to further profile the Club in the community is just fantastic.

The badge of the last few seasons is boring and old fashioned .
Next seasons strip could be a classic by all accounts so we may as well get it 100% correct with a modern and fully embroidered badge
