Former Burnley centre forward Ray Pointer aged 79 years as sadly passed away, a top forward in his day, scoring 132 goals in 270 apperances for the club, he played 3 times for England in which he scored twice, he was part of a famous Burnley side that won the then top Division 1 league title, a good professional footballer.

Sincere condolences to Ray's family, rest in peace.

Good player - scored quite a few against us over the years, including FIVE goals in one game when playing for Bury in October 1965 (Final score Bury 6 Millers 1). Still a Bury club record for a goalscorer in a single match , I think.
Sad news.
