Charlton played out a goalless draw against Cardiff with an improved performance which lifted them off the bottom of the table but does little to ease relegation near certainty despite Riga's stabilising influence.
Johnnie Jackson missed a golden opportunity to put the Add1cks ahead just before half time and Yaya Sanogo's appearance on 72 minutes shifted the momentum in favour of the home side but that was not enough for a winning goal and Charlton remain 6 points from safety with 15 games left.
