It is more commonly spelled/spelt 'pterodactyl', with the 'P' silent, as in swimming pool. - view external link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B12TV8hW8es)

If you have a group of 70 people, there is a 99.9% probability that two of them will have the same birthday.

The word "Checkmate" in chess comes from the Persian phrase "Shah Mat", which means "the king is dead".

Each unit on the Richter Scale has a shaking amplitude 10 times larger than a preceding number and an energy release factor of 31.6. An earthquake measuring 6 on the Richter Scale is almost 32 times more powerful than a 5. 2 is the smallest that can be felt unaided. Though the scale goes to 10, 9 is estimated to be the point of total tectonic destruction.

Fanta was originally invented in and for Nazi Germany only during WW2

Some ingredients for Coke could not be imported into Germay due to an embargo.

This led to the head of Coke in Germany inventing a new drink as a replacement using available ingredients and his own idea

Because he made up on the spot using his own imagination, the called it Fantasie, which was shortened to Fanta

Apple Fanta was born.

So next time you have an apple Fanta, just think of it as Nazi juice

Spikkin o World Wars ...

At the end of WW1 the SFA were rather tardy in restarting Div2 so a number of clubs protested; one being Dundee Hibernian. The SFA were forced to relent and Div2 started up again in season 1921-22.

That season also saw the introduction of automatic promotion/relegation. Once again, Dundee Hibs were strong campaigners.

Ironically Dundee Hibs finished second bottom of Div2 in 1921-22 and became one of the first teams to be automatically relegated.

During their non-league 'sabatical' they changed their constitution, and their to Dundee United.

The last time the Netherlands played an international match without a 'van' in their starting XI was against France during Euro 2000 (they won 3-2).

However, the last time they didn't have a 'van' in their entire match day squad (Peter van Vossen appeared as a late substitute against France) was way back in 1996 in a friendly 2-0 victory against China.

In 1906 Boca Juniors contested a match v Nottingham de Almagro The loser of which had to give up their black n white stripes. Boca lost and decided that flag on the next ship to come into port would chose the new colours. The next ship was a Swedish ship hence the yellow and blue of Boca we all know now

Scientists have ascertained that Hunnishness, as characterised by boak inducing physical deformities, is not, as previously believed, a hereditary condition, but an acquired condition probably brought on by social/environmental factors.

I love fitba trivia but also appreciate good sports trivia. Good een to come off the back of the Superdome. Phillidelphia now joins the elite list of cities to have won the Superbowl, World Series, Stanley Cup and NBA playoffs, New York, Boston, LA, Detroit, Chicago being the others. Intrestingling if you add in MLS into it, LA and Chicago have all 5. There are 43 cities to win "majors" in America

Using chop sticks forces you to slow down and take smaller bites of food. This gives your stomach time to access you are eating and getting full. This reduces the overall risk of diabetes and obesity.

Yes I am spending my Saturday night googling 'benefits of using chopsticks'.

Have just been having a conversation with a local here. I was saying that there are very few tall Angolans as he brought up my height

He told me that theres a reason. Basically the Portuguese cherry picked all the big loons and sold them into slavery when that was on the go. Meaning that the "tall gene" has been lost/diluted somewhat in the country. Interesting but sh@t at the same time
