Received a message front non united supporting mate who's involved in Scottish football at a decent level:

Louis Anderre - remember the name, he played as a Trialist for United last night and ripped Formartine at every opportunity. Only 17

Louis Appere, you mean. My best mate coached and played with him before he left AM soccer for United, he was training with Raith last year and thankfully we've brought him here.

Aye probably, my mate text me this morning so will be the same lad.

Good to see we're looking at prospects.

Is he a winger?

I'm usually against signing Fifers unless they are goalies. That extra finger is handy for goalies IMO

You lads believe anything. If he was any good the last place he would be going
was too you lot.
You need someone in the mould o Greg Stewart or Hemming's but no many
class players like them going aboot

Confirmed in The Courier this morning.....welcome aboard young man

Dundee United have won the race to sign rising talent Louis Appere, who has had a trial at Italian giants AS Roma.

The young Fifer celebrated his switch to the Tangerines by playing and scoring for United’s development squad against Formartine at St Andrews at the weekend.

It is understood there were several clubs keen on Appere but the fact that United gaffer Ray McKinnon had already had him on trial at Raith Rovers last season proved crucial when making his final decision.

The 17-year-old forward, who was with Cupar-based AMsoccer Club, visited Roma’s prestigious Trigoria training base earlier this summer for a four-day stint after coming to their attention via internet site YouTube.

Potentially a very exciting signing and underlines the positive changes under RM that have already taken place.

Another Shrewd move by the gaffer!

Looking at the team of new guys that McKinnon has attracted, especially those that potentially could have moved for a SPL club or better speaks volumes for RM's managerial ability and sales skills!

Is there really nothing happening up at Funville to keep you interested?

Did we pay a set of track suits for him?

Oh, I forgot. that was the Funny Mob's way of doing business.

Be interesting to see how he does down there, like Stewart most of his goals against the dross of the prem or lower league sides, no derby winner between them either

Really hope Raymond is scouring football for centre half-- ideally 2 but definitely 1 is a must-- happy enough wee rest o the signings but lack o a good central defender could cost us big time

I love the fun and fully understand why the Dee must detest us. Always in our shadow.

Ps
When is Greg Stewart finding a big club?

Would that be the same Kane Hemmings who scored a consolation penalty for Notts County yesterday as they lost 3-1 and were relegated from the football league? Aye, class right enough…
