We all know players have a peak in here so if you're reading this Joe , we don't blame you one bit for that goal tonight.

The ball obviously took a massive bobble and no keeper could have done any better..

Hopefully this doesn't affect your confidence min..

I thought you were excellent again tonight so keep up the good work..

Do me a favour and give Rooney and Taylor a good hard f@cking punch each

The phrase "bobble" is much overused.

It's a Lewis thread.

Outstanding tonight, commanding in the air, good shot stopper and good distribution throughout. That goal pretty much summed up the tie for us, just unbelievable we did not get through.

Lewis will be a great signing for us.

I ken its a Lewis thread. Hence my tongue and cheek statement about him doing me a favour. Folk need to lighten here up for f@ck sake.

Anyway im hoping you are correct. He was good tonight and ace v Ventspils away so good signs so far. The other bonus being that if he unfortunatley gets injured or banned he has an able deputy

No probs. We are all hurting. It's not like Sociedad or Almaty. This year we were by far the better side and a mixture of bad luck, bad refereeing and basic errors are out.

I have no problem with fellow Dons fans feeling pi$$ed off tonight, I am.

Fack it, sh1t happens. On another night he takes a touch first to control it then hoofs it but let face it, we were never going to win tonight. Rooney was always going to miss a pen at some stage in his AFC career, the ref, well, lets not even discuss him, then that piece of horrendous bad luck for Joe.

Peace and love, Dandies.

I feel Lewis has been exceptional thus far. At least relative to what we're used to. He has all the attributes that we all wanted in a goalkeeper. Commanding, dominant in the air...

During the Langfield era I developed...for want of a better phrase...an arse clench. Danny Ward relaxed my arse, but unfortunately, Scott Brown re-tensed those muscles. I now feel like I'll never be able to return to the halcyon days of assured goalkeeper kicking, but Joe is beginning to help me through my troubles. (tonight excepted)

We have our number one, great game tonight for the brown bomber ;D
I am sure he may make a mistake or 2 through the season as all good keepers do but with Joe as no.1 and Alexander as back up we have 2 solid keepers (oh oh, did I just jinx it?), so next thing to sort is the defence, well centre backs.

Bobble was a joke but hey-ho, move on COYR

been lucky to be at all 6 euro games. Before last night (just got name- knackered) Thought Lewis hadn't been tested apart from shot stopping. Thought last night was the first time he had to deal with a proper team who know how to pressure a keeper at set pieces and he really commanded his box. Confident display which bodes well for this season.

Immense? Maribor going forward were poor but i still felt we looked shaky at the back, hopefully match fitness but against better teams i think we could be in trouble (just an opinion).

One minute the ball goes under considine's foot with no opposition around him (no bobble) then he pulls off a cracking tackle but he looked very jaded. Taylor & Reynolds gave away a lot of free-kicks in silly positions. Not punished this time, just think over all from a defensive point of view we could tighten the CBs

Agree with this and i wouldn't be surprised if quite a few clubs are keeping an eye on him. As we know good keepers are a prized asset and wouldn't be surprised if a hefty offer it placed at some point over the next year.

I think he'll be valued at 2 million depending on who's looking.

Sounds very like Johnny Hayes.
New deal, likes playing for Aberdeen.
Decent offer comes in and the club sells.

I'm sure the same would happen with Joe. He might even have a clause in his contract which convinced him to sign the extension.

Its different for keepers though - 92 keeper spots vs 920 outfield spots each week in the English leagues, no chance of the odd game here and there slotting in at left back/centre mid etc. Offering someone a secure spot as first choice keeper has massive value.

I get that, but we have Rogers in reserve having served his time at Falkirk.

He did quite well in the championship, even named in the Championship team of the year, despite the presence of SevCo, Hibs and maybe even Hearts.
He also won numerous award and accolades as the Falkirk keeper.
He's obviously yet to prove himself in the top league, but he probably deserves a chance when Lewis moves on.

He's also been called up to the senior ROI squad.

Maybe Mason saw more of him when at Dumbarton where he also won awards and can comment more

Aye, no doubt there'll be interest - was thinking more in relation to him having a release clause. The guarantees given to Lewis may well be related to being first choice keeper rather than getting a move if a decent offer comes in as was the case with Hayes. Hopefully if there is an offer we're in a position to turn it down.

I really hope we are in that position, but I doubt in today's game at our level it's a deciding factor.
As others said above, if Celtic make a reasonable offer, he could view the option as more money, more exposure (champions league) and more likelihood of trophies.
