Cannae be any worse than the last few world cups which were sh*te.

Olympics aren't what they used to be...the flo jos, the middle distance brilliance of cram, ovett and Coe, the Johnson v Lewis debacle, Carl Lewis himself, Liz mccolgan, Johnson, Daley Thompson, Marlene ottee, Cathy freeman,

All the greats who gave us so much entertainment.

but come on ANDY MURRAY.

:)

Oh and Rio is a phucking incredible place!

Thought same 4 year ago, I was very cynical about it. Would have struggled to name 5 participants and was sick to death of hearing about tickets, tickets, tickets. Swore not to watch a second. Didn't even watch beginning opening ceremony until I got several messages telling me to switch over.

Ha gripped for the whole fortnight. I was housebound at the time so saw a lot of coverage, I even found myself punching the air the middle Saturday.

I'm going to try and enjoy this one the same, save my cynicism for fitba.
Seeing folk from every nation standing together does a weary soul good.

Tres eloquent.

Its a beautiful thing.i wouldve absolutely loved to have been a part of an olympics.must be an incredible feeling just to take part let alone win a medal.

Not too many fans fighting either at the Olympics i hear.

Some of it was brilliant and some slightly dull.
However, the work and artistry behind the scenes is superb.
The indigenous scene with the roots and forest scene was very clever.

I think the 'girl from Ipanema' should've been far more spectacular and 'Christ the redeemer ' should've been celebrated more with an homage to the incredible sculptor who created it.

It's a sight to behold and one of the most iconic images on the planet.(and I'm not religious one bit).

I also think it's a great idea to get all 11,000 athletes to plant a seed.

There is a hellva lot of empty seats, even at the beach volleyball, we may have complained about London but the venues were packed, I know cos I went.

Shame really after spending all that money, and they lectured us in the opening ceremony about climate change and pollution as they fished out more bloated bodies from water venues.

I think the problem pro athletes reach a level we all have it.

Sometimes that level just isn't good enough to win you the real prize money which in turn loses you sponsorship which makes the difference whether you can make a good living or not.

That's when the lure of drugs become more enticing knowing that taking them will indeed reap you rewards in some cases millions it's not just the prize money on offer for top athletes there's appearance money sponsorship money and indeed money from other sources
It's easy to see why these athletes do take them .
The sport is riddled with drug cheats everytime I now see athletes on the podium it now holds a question mark over their achievements
Are they on drugs or are they not I would say there's a good chance they are.
But not all as some are talented like indeed Mo Farah .

Put a bet on today £20 on Genzebe Dibaba and with that £20 free bet on her as well to win Gold in the 1500.

She's the you ger sister of 10k champ and 5k world record holder ..

I can't see past her winning the 1500 but sometimes athletes go in with a plan to prevent the favourite from winning the race like boxing them in throwing elbows and clicking heels ..
Not saying that will happen here Genzebe needs to hit the front early . Should be a good race.

A Scotland team wouldn't be too bad.

But then you'd end up having to support a load of actual Huns and Tims and I couldn't be f***ed with that.

Need to enter a PR of Aberdonia team.

But then there're some right miserable c**ts in Aberdeen and I couldn't abide them having any joy either. It's bad enough when the Dons win. Some folk are actually happy but any non-c*nt knows that proper mannies are straight on here to moan how sh*te McLean is.

Need to enter our own Olympic team exclusively for folk who we don't think are utter irredeemable c*nts ('like' is too strong a word for those nearest and dearest to you). We won't be very good mind you because there will only be about two or three folk in the team and I'm not very good at synchronised swimming.
