If the various rumours prove to be true, these nine players are all going through the "Exit door".

It's going to be one heck of a summer!

Deadline meeting with Andre and Sean today apparently

According to the Newcastle Chronicle, Burnley learned over the weekend that Gray doesn’t intend to sign a new deal at Turf Moor.

That makes more sense than the Spurs rumours, that the PL's favourite basket-case club is interested in him I can believe.

They are talking of spending £200m - presume Ashley doesn't want to go down again, so they may not be a basket case this time.

If they're thinking Andre's goals will keep them up, then basket case they still are.

Keane and Gray need to sit down with SD give their heads a wobble, sign new deals with the Clarets and crack on.

Playing for Burnley is NOT going to prevent a player from being called up by Southgate.

I am not understanding why we are not offering Boydy a two year contract.

Unless of course, we are looking to sign a player who can actually cross a ball?

I have seen nothing yet to show that what we have replaced them with are any better or reliable.

I would keep both as relatively cheap options for when plan A is not working.

Hello all,

Brighton fan here, obviously really looking forward to next season.

Congratulations on a really good season last year in the Premier League, if we replicate that, I'd be a very happy man.

Enjoyed the 3 way battle between us, you and Boro season before last. Even if the end result wasn't pleasant!

Where do you see you guys strengthening next season? I guess you're looking a bit light in central midfield, I thought Stephens was odds on to join you guys next season and really shocked he decided to stay as I thought location was one of the biggest factors.

Hi Seagull, and congrats on reaching the promised land (not what I would call it but everyone else calls it that).

Yes it was odds on that Stephens would come North with his family ties, so either it was all hype or money talks, I wasn't upset when he didn't arrive as I don't rate him, and it's not sour grapes as there are a few we bought which I'm also not happy about.

I think we need strengthening all over the shop to be honest, and if we don't it will be another struggle with very poor displays again, that's only my opinion as there are a few on here who believe we are the real deal, good luck in the Prem and enjoy the money :)

Stephens signing a new contract at Brighton hardly got a mention among Burnley fans , who were never that struck with him. He would have been a downgrade on our current central midfielders Hendrick and Westwood and we are looking to upgrade, even more now that we are in our second season.

Burnley need a combatative central midfielder , another forward player like Ings who can drop in the hole, and a centre half ready to step straight into the first team if needed. Finally a fast tricky wide player.

Brighton will need a strong bench. We perished without one 14/15. This season we had a bench worth in the region of 30+ million pounds at time. Our subs made a key difference this time.

Everyone and his dog 'knew' Stephens was going to sign for us last summer, we were lead to believe it was a done deal. The player wanted the move and if you hung onto him we could have him for nothing this summer. It was a big gamble to keep him, you had to win promotion and then persuade him to stay. The lesson for our board, don't play poker with a professional.

Best of luck in the PL but I'm with Alto, it's not all it's cracked up to be, by any means.

Stephens not coming to us is not a concern. Like others I don't rate him as much as I do Knockaert and Hemed.

I don't expect Tony Bloom to sit on his hands over summer and expect some new signings to improve the team.

There were some bad moments for Brighton and not coming top was one of them.

Still, you are certain to be a handful next season.

Agree with all that Donz even down to the bench and I have a feeling we will be similar again if we don't strengthen and get rid of the few players who simply aren't good enough.

They have been good servants but sadly can't cut it at this level, a lot depends on the club now IMO if they are seriously going to have a go at this or if they simply hoping for a survival campaign.( I don't mean we are better in my mind than we are ---- some on here think we should be top half. ) .

I just mean we need to be progressive ( Dyche included) in how we win games.

Incidentally Williams for Reading looks like the combative type you refer to if Reading don't win this game , watched him a few times in last 3-4 weeks and looks like he could do the job in the premiership.
Might be a bargain ?

I have to agree about Williams. He gives it 100% every game and works hard for the team. Always tries to use the ball and comes up with the occasional goal. He is 28 years old and could probably fit into the framework.

Defour wants Al Jazira or China for the money.
No surprise there

http://www.dhnet.be/sports/football/steven-defour-veut-quitter-burnley-592eed97cd702b5fbee52a77

DH in Belgium have a look at the situation, and reveal that, were it up to him, he would go to a club in the Middle-East, an option he already favoured over Burnley last year, but the Premier League club’s offer was too good for Anderlecht to turn down.

Al-Jazira came forward back then, and Defour is looking to end his career either at a club in the surrounding area or somewhere else with a similar desire to hand out hefty wage packages, like China.

Furthermore, the fact that it’s a World Cup year isn’t a factor for the player, who hasn’t been a regular for Belgium for a while, meaning that at this stage in his career, ensuring he has enough money to retire happily appears to be his priority.

Will that change if Sean goes? I doubt it he is not committed to the club.

It looks to me like Defour is leaking his desire to move away from Turf Moor in the Belgian press.

Dyche s talking about it being a difficult summer transfer wise for the Clarets and is on record as saying he thinks it premature to have Burnley as relegation candidates.

Defour leaving, Dyche staying? Or vice versa? It's a bloody merry go round and I feel (in my water :D) Dyche wants stability in the same way Mike Garlick does!

This is just a guess, but I would think that Defour couldn't subscribe to the 'formula' and wanted more freedom of expression on the pitch.

I've said before, if this is the case, we can save a lot of money by buying more Championship workhorses (e.g. Arfield and Boyd) rather than creative players, because anyone remotely like Defour will just end up on the naughty bench.

What I find odd nutsinmay is that I saw every game Defour played any part of for us last season and he never shirked or looked off form to me. Primitive has mentioned otherwise but the Defour/Dyche enigma has me baffled, it really does!

I would guess that there's been some sort of battle of wills.

I don't do social media, but I understand that Defour's other half has posted some unflattering comments about him not getting enough game time.

Most fans would agree that he's probably our best player, and if some sort of spat with Dyche is behind it, then SD is cutting his nose off to spite his face imho.

At the end of the day --whose job was on the line? Certainly not Defour.
The sole objective last season was to stay in the PL. Sean Dyche managed the team and achieved this objective with a decent margin in the end and now, many fans are worrying that he might leave us to manage Palace.
Are they more worried about SD (manager) leaving or SD (player) leaving? I suggest that it is the former.

I'm sure Everton will have called at some stage about Tom, again, I think a number recognise that not only are they playing in the top division, they are now playing for their countries. Maybe, just maybe our Board have said no, offer not good enough and add a few more zero's to that cheque.
Tom will now command £35 to £40 million....
