Southampton have done quite well grabbing several SPL players over the years with vanDijk being the latest, but Fraser Foster and Steve Davis being others and are now rumoured to be after Stuart Armstrong from Celtic.

Hull have also had quite a few notably Andrew Robertson but also Alan McGregor, Shaun Maloney, Snodgrass,

I wonder if we should not try fishing up here.

For what it's worth I did profile both Robertson and Armstrong a few years ago on here when they were at Dundee United.

Tin hat on for suggesting this!!

Bournemouth picked up Fraser from Scotland who is a great little powerhouse of a player.

I've no doubt there are players there ripe for picking, the risk will be smaller as the fees not as big to bring them to us so what not ?

We should have had Armstrong first time around, another one that slipped the net.

Given Celtic have been so dominant I would start there and here's the squad by salary. We could afford most of them and many are young and would fit our buy young philosophy.

The star has been Moussa Dembele who is on £25K, and looks set to leave but some big clubs interested, Scott Sinclair also on the same has scored a lot too.
Leigh Griffisths age26 scored two against England and has had a rocky last few months with Rodgers, on £18k

Ones you may not know Tom Rogic is 24 with 24 caps for Australia as an attacking midfielder who scored the winning goal in the cup final, https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NrlnIlX_QLY
SFA YOung Player of the Year two years running Kieran Tierney at left back is only 20 with 4 Scottish caps both are on £15K

Armstrong is on £8 K as is another of my suggestions last time Mackay Steven. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ROo3NoQjXAw
Southampton offering £10M and to pay Armstrong £30k.

Elsewhere
Rangers had a disappointing year and half their squad has been turned over by the new Portuguese manager - bringing in Portuguese players, their salaries will be less than Celtic by some way and a few are unsettled.
One that surprised me was Barry Mackay a nifty winger aged 22 who has been put to train with the under 20s and has turned down their contract offer - they had a bid of£6M for him from Leipzig in January

Warburton is interested in taking him to Forest.

McKay having a medical at Forest meanwhile his Rangers team - playing without him and several others have lost 2-0 in the Europa Cup to the fourth best team in Luxembourg!! their first ever European win.
The manager could be out on a plane home to Portugal. bet Warburton is a happy man

If the Scouts are heading up North on the M6 I hope none of them are Katy Perry's dad?

She does not even know what this is..?

Perhaps some of the Gers players don't know either?

Talk that Ryan Guald who went from Dundee United to Sporting Lisbon age 18 for £2M may be available for £3M, though now 21 and he hasn't yet had much first team experience, but he was brilliant before he went.

That would seem a minimal risk and could be a master stroke.

One for our European scout. He had a £48M release clause at one time and was called mini Messi - he is now saying he's happy there, but a PL chance might appeal and at that money can we go wrong.

At Lisbon https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Bu-U0EgCv_c

At Dundee https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0S8VnHxPr8E

Do you have a mouth piece as well as an earpiece BT? If so spread the word.

You may have noticed that Warburton has signed two Scottish strikers recently, Ranger Barry McKay for £500k ( more a winger though) and Hibee top scorer Jason Cummings for £1M. We were interested in Cummings one time and much higher figures were quoted for us. With two extra strikers maybe he expects to lose Britt! whatever happens he'll make them lots of money with these two signings. Pity we don't look up here.

One from the past as I was touting Stuart Armstrong

Worth a shot still!

Brighton, Crystal Palace, Southampton and West Brom have all expressed an interest in signing 26-year-old Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong, with the Scot keen on a move to the Premier League. (Record)
