Not impressed XD ... what were you expecting? Eden Harzard? Xavi? Ronaldo? This is a better signing than Maloney would have been and he is a cracking little player. I think folk need to lower their expectations here and realise we are a club who only get a 13K average home attendence and signing a player like GMS is about as good as it gets.

Reminds me of McGinn in that seems it's mentality and not ability that holds him back - when he's on it he's flying but when he's kicked, challenged etc he disappears. Hopefully new chance and Deek/Doc can bolster his confidence.

Another reason to wish him well is not having to see terms like fanny, fairy, nancy-boy or incredibly 'poof' bandied about for the next two years

You might still see that from a few folk unfortunately.

Personally I think it's a good signing,welcome aboard GMS.

Well anytime i saw him against us i thought he was a fantastic player. Quick, agile and good with the ball at his feet. Celtic snapped him up for a reason and that season they signed him, he was at the top of his game. We are all different though and differ on opinions. I would just like to know what some fans expectations are and who they thought we could realistically sign instead?

I agree... Very happy with this deal, but hope we can tie him down longer in 12 months time. 2 year deal is not ideal and hope we did not shell out a lot of cash on that basis.

Only ever seen him play against us.
By and large we handled him, except that 3-0 1st game of the season.
That was the game Del stuck with the diamond after it did ok against Sociedad.
Trouble was, Hayes had played left but was suspended. He stuck Robson in, Consi at LB.
Neen pace and he had a ball down the right.
Ach well, he's oors now so arabest fella.

Couldn't agree more. The guy is a great player. Loads of skill, plenty of assists. Far from being a powder puff/fairy. He will flourish with us - just needs his confidence built back up.

I think this can be a great signing for us and indeed for GMS himself ,giving us more options. It will be interesting to see how the loss of Hayes and McGinn and the introduction of the new guys changes our style of play

We just need to sign a mentaller/beserker at the back (positioned just outside the box to avoid penalties) and everyone will be happy ;D

These players are because of the club-trained / association-trained player rules.

If you don't list any of those players, your "List A" is limited to only 17 players.

Your List B can have an unlimited numbers players, but all must be born from 01 Jan 1996 onward and eligible to play for the club for at least 2 years.

Stockley has to be listed now because you can't change your squad between the 1st and 2nd legs of a tie.

He was a direct, skillful player with the jutes. His confidence must have taken a dent over the last couple of seasons with nae getting a game for those minkers but getting a regular start with us can only help the loon.

Have to agree GMS is acceptable over the full indulgent moniker.
MS doesn't cover it, both for reasons of negative connotation and straying into Big Dobbin's (unfortunate) forum ownership territory.

DM is saying that Scott Wright will get game time this season as well

"Both Niall and Jonny were hugely influential and we hope Gary can be something similar. I really believe he can be.

We hope Scott Wright will also provide us with that this season. It is important we give Scott the chance to grow this season as well as Gary."

"We have now got two exciting, attacking wide players."

Well deserved imo , I think he is ready after that hatrick against Partick last season.

It is a bit I'd say.
But playing Devil's Advocate, he has been top scorer for a struggling team for two years and scored 18 goals both years.
I'd say £400k + Miles Storey would be as far as I'd want to go.
He seems to be "agitating" for a move going by his quotes in the paper today.
Personally, I'd rather spend £400k on a good centre half rather than a League One player from England.
IF, and I stress IF we signed Moult & Maloney, where on earth would they all fit in?
Brilliant to have options, but would rather we sacrificed either one of Moult/Maloney to have a centre half of a similar standard to the rest of the forward going signings we've made.
If we got all three, then that would be brilliant.

We won't
Even if we did, the "wildcard" signing you're allowed for this round was Gary Mackay-Steven.
I'd love two new centre backs, but I'm sure we'll just get one, a right sided one (probably an O'Connor type from League One in England). A lad that DM had at Bristol City was mentioned on Twitter yesterday, can't remember his name but just released from Barnsley.

I dont think we will go any higher than 400k for Moult especially now we have signed Maynard.

I think we will sign him or May on a pre contract in January and we will end up signing Maloney and a centre half this window.
