Frozen-out Dundee United defender Coll Donaldson could be set for a shock move to Ukrainian outfit Karpaty Lviv.
The 22-year-old is on the lookout for a new club after being told by Ray McKinnon he can leave Tannadice.
United boss McKinnon recently praised Donaldson’s attitude for refusing to stick it out for the final year of a contract signed on top flight wages.
Donaldson played as a trialist for Barrow in a friendly against Blackburn last week but hasn’t been offered a deal.
Donaldson had a trial with Polish side Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza last season who were keen to take him loan but United and the player wanted a permanent deal.
And the former Livingston and QPR man is now a target for Karpaty Lviv who play in Ukraine’s Premier League.
