brilliant speaker, very funny and engaging.

he pretty much confirmed much of what p boro has been ascertaining

he wasn't happy at the beginning of the transfer window, and while he is happier - he hasn;t got what he wanted player wise etc

he seriously thought about leaving - he didn't say that in those words but thats what he meant.

said they finished the league in may, within 1 week he had his 4 main transfer targets identified and started talks whatever. for one reason or another, sometimes money sometimes family sometimes agents they didn't come off.

he had more meetings with lee and i'm not sure if he said ashley as well. anyway he said he had to sit down and make a decision - stay or go. he decided he wanted to stay - rather than learn chinese - and while he isn't getting the players he originally wanted he is getting the best players he can at this time. = and that before he signs anyone at all he makes sure they really really want to play for us, no ifs or buts.

he said preseason was going to plan - he didn't want to do long haul - asia with climate problems etc etc etc. have to balance getting the players fit and ready for start of season against making money with lucrative far east trips that doesn't necessarily provide the best training etc.

he also said him the players and us have to form an unbreakable bond during matches, its crucial that we give support during matches - not have half teh ground muttering about mistakes made etc - he said support during the match then you can criticise all you want afterwards on social media.

he also got on about formations, and admitted he has NEVER lost a match on the blackboard.

he admits to being a bad loser

he said formation 4 2 3 1, 442, 451 etc isn;t the key. the key is the players going out and doing what it is they have been told to do.

he did mention abrahams by name, and he might have mentioned more names, can't remember and can't remember why but i think it was combination of agent , lawyer and money.

he also said the transfer window is too long, gives too many players, and clubs too much time for humming and hahing. he thinks the transfer window shou;d close before the league starts

I think one of the players was Ake, but, when Bournemouth were prepared to pay £20M, he didn't expect us to try to compete, as it was silly money.

another was Tammy Abraham, but we've dodged a bullet if the lad isn't committed to the cause.

mind you, I'm k my getting my info off Twitter. so it could be bollix

Yeah, thanks for that summary, sounds very interesting.

Regarding the market, it's insane that there aren't more regulations as to what clubs can do in terms of signing players. Nonetheless, with the market such as it is, I still believe that we will get our turn and end up signing some good players for more reasonable money than what we're seeing at the moment (50 mil for Sigurdsson???)

Aye but what about £50 million for Walker a right back who had lost his first team place at Spurs.

after a slow start, I think we've done ok in the window.

you don't need to sign well known superstars to sign good players, the likes of Watford and Southampton prove that every year.

Rafa wants a keeper, a striker and a couple more squad players.

I'm looking forward to the new season, and I will not be judging us on a game against spurs.

time to do as Rafa asks and get behind the lads!

And Walker has gone to a club who have bought two other full backs in this window, taking their spending on full backs to £120m in this window. Guardiola is a genius - I don't think any other manager in the world would have thought of buying 3 full backs at an average of £40m each. It's gonna be some system they all play in! I'm being facetious of course - they could actually do with another LB in my opinion.

Crazy window.

Did he lose his place? Didn't know that. But I'm sure you're right as Spurs don't seem intent on bringning a new player in.

But yeah they're both crazy signings in terms of amount paid. And as we can't pay that for a player, we have to wait until the market slows down which I'm certain it will a few weeks up until it closes. Then we might be able to sign some 'established' players.
