The Birmingham Mail says the Albion are notoriously slow at conducting business. Not so. They are notoriously incompetent by regularly missing out on players they have courted for months and finish with lesser players for more money. They leak information about intended targets which is a godsend to other clubs who snap them up. The negotiating skills are abysmal. This happens year on year and frankly when I was in business I would have been fired for my inability to do a deal with another Company quickly and financially sound. Who is responsible for letting the Club down year on year? I cannot believe it is a businessman with an acumen of football knowledge. Please help the supporters by taking positive action. I also have great sympathy for any Manager saddled with this extra and unnecessary hurdle.

Welcome to the board but you are only echoing what the majority of us have been stating season after season. Apparently we are reported to be loaning out Field and Lecko for the coming season. Boy, are going to be busy in the transfer market in the next few weeks. Reckon I'll take my boots, just in case!

Excellent. I am 95 and will be delighted to join you but don't expect more than the odd goal or two. Incidentally I started following the baggies in 1932 when they beat the blues 2-1. W G Richardson was the centre forward then. I have watched Ronnie Allen and Jeff Astle since then and all three were great players. For me however Ronnie was the greatest however as he could play all along the five front line positions, as it was then, and invented the deep lying centre forward role later adopted by Don Revie the Leeds manager.
