Naymar to PSG for £198m, deal about to be done. £198m? Anyone try to justify that? Its a complete obscenity to me.

So that means he's worth twenty Rhodes, mon pere. By the way, cast your beady eye over the Owls' new kit. The away version looks like a stick of rock. 5736

The topic is Naymar, and a whole new level for obscene transfer prices, not your new kit Les. Stop trying to derail the thread.

Surely there must be some mistake, that's Ipswich's old home kit Les? Not a stripe in sight.

And the Bradford-esk away kit is sponsored by a garden centre. XD

Surely only the daftest Pig is going to talk this mess up.

Alf Ramsey Ipswich era Gray. Makes you wonder why the Dolphin killer just didn't buy the Tractor Boys instead seeing as he appears to like their kit so much.

Absolute madness and not real life money, I thought the Lukaku fee was stupid. It does put into perspective our measured approach and makes me appreciate more what Tufty and our board are doing by trying to be competitive but sustainable.

I know this one's going the other way but sustainability does not matter for Real Madid and Barca, the state just bails them out.

Not sure how La Liga can object based on FP though.

500k a week TAKE HOME pay. Who needs that much money? Really?

Will it implode? Not in my opinion it won't.

As an aside, aren't Barca and PSG both Qatari backed? I know they've had the same sponsor in the past (Qatar Airways - highly recommended I will add). This may just be a case of transferring a player registration as oppose to a transfer.

Just a thought that's all

It's not what a player is worth, it's what he's worth to you. Take Ronaldo. If signing him makes the difference between winning the European Cup or not, plus merchandising, then maybe over the period he's engaged it's justifiable. But it wouldn't be justifiable to the Sheffield clubs; they'd not be crowned European Champions even with him in the team. Ditto Rhodes. If he gets you up then the fee and wages are worth it. But based on what I've seen I'm not even sure he'll get in the team; I'd have Fletcher in before him.
