I know we have a more mature team this season but I think Dean is a bit too past it.

I'd doubt that. Why would the loan player have a contract, that is all sorted out between the club's. If the bid has been accepted, I would have thought the contract would already be drawn up between the club's?

So who is rumoured to be signing? Have I missed something and we have a Brazilian on trial known as Yates? 😁😁

Bids and cash yes, but contracts drawn up after the bid? I'd say no

Contracts are always drawn up after the bid is accepted, whats the point in offering someone a contract when you have no idea what their expectations are or whether you will even be allowed to discuss terms with them?

Yeah, if you go back and read my comment, that is why I said I don't believe it's a loan signing!

I'd have thought that the player would remain an employee of the lending club who would continue to pay his wages. The contract would be between the two clubs and would say, amongst other things, how much the borrowing club would pay to the lending club towards those wages.

Mappers, it really is time you gave your scriptwriter the old heave-ho and signed up somebody new.

I'd be happy with Dean Yates, but we've probably signed Eddie, a free transfer from Coronation St, AH knows his dad....

I would think that this is potentially a very good loan for you [...] Yates is in the uner 23s but is also expecte to make the step up. There's a lot of promise there if you can brin it out. I hope that you can.

But they are not up for sale.

That was from an earlier thread that shockingly got a bit derailed...

He looks promising though, offered a new contract by Forest whilst out on loan at a League One club.

Patience... i get the feeling we are not finished in the market. To be fair to KN and AH, most positions that were a concern have been sorted.
The interview with Yates on the OS is positive. He seems well up for it, talks well, and hopefully will do well. They are definately doing something right with youth over the river

As said, our academy keeps spitting them out. Don't dismiss them.

Easy to do in a city where you have unparalleled resources but I am more than happy to see them at Notts to learn a trade they will never learn at Florist.
