Were we to blame?

Not sure Colner, but it doesn't really matter to the FA as with Gray's Twitter remarks before he was even at our Club yet we got penalised with him getting match bans.

I hope they are giving entry fee's back as the faithful leave.. . .. .. . . . . . . . . NOT

I have just watched live video . The german ultras broke through the segregation to attack Burnley fans, about 100 or so dressed in black.. Russian style..

The person in charge of todays policing has a lot to answer for.. It has been well known that they were bringing a hard core of fans intent on causing trouble. Probably about 100 or so . So if we knew about it ,why did lancashires finest not. (police inteligence :D ) He or she has put people at risk due to incompetence and should be accountable. How difficult is it to police 100 fans.?

sinkov

The priority for a proper police force would be that a lawful event proceeds as scheduled, but we don't have proper policing any more, they just capitulate at the first hint of trouble. I assume the Germans weren't indulging in racist or homophonic chanting, they'd have been sorted out in no time if they had.

I wonder how much the club paid for the services of the police. Seeing as they didn't do the job we paid them to do, if I was Garlick I'd demand our money back, or sue them under the Trades Descriptions Act.

See the pic of him, apart from the obvious, who is he ? He is one of the first members of Burnleys hoodlum firm.. Some people just wont grow out of it, must be 50+. Not usualy involved these days, prefers a drink.. Not sure that he was arrested , but told he went in the away end with the krauts.. probably to pizzed to realise he was in the wrong place..

German news agency dpa reports that “several hundred” Hannover fans were responsible for the disturbances, chanting abuse against their club president Martin Kind and ripping up seats to throw toward Burnley supporters.

Kind is unpopular among Hannover fans for taking a majority 51 percent stake in the club last Monday.

It seems odd that he doesn't say how many were arrested during this 'robust police operation', how many are being charged. Could the answer be none and none ? Or do they have some banged up and want some video evidence to press charges ? It all seems very odd, I've been filmed outside football grounds so often I'm disappointed I've never been nominated for an Oscar, yet these robocops didn't have a video cam ?

My wife read yesterday morning that the Hannover Ultras were arriving at Manchester Airport and were intent on causing bother.

It begs the question if the wife could pick this intention up on a media newsfeed, how the heck did Greater Manchester and Lancashire Police not act on information received?

We did not attend the match because of a family commitment. Glad we didn't bother!

They knew alright BT, they admit that, but they still couldn't cope. Well they could have coped, but they took the easy option and called the game off. Seems that everything beyond hate crime is too much trouble for them to bother these days.

And of course motoring offences.

I think we all know what would have been the outcome if this had been Burnley fans in Germany.

We certainly do, moronic English fans have been causing mayhem in Europe for many years, has the police response over there ever been to call a game off ? It might have happened but I'm not aware of it, they didn't even call the game off at the Heysel disaster FFS.

I agree about moronic English fans, but they're all morons irrespective of their nationality. I was talking about the difference in the reaction of the police, as indeed you were.

German football clubs have asked for the help of the German football league and football association to handle trouble caused by 'ultra' fans after a friendly match in England had to be called off.
