In the later rounds I'd like Man City at home. Banger, sorry mallan, to just keep it in and send it over for a hedges powerfully headed 1 0 winner. I'd also like to be part of the brewery going leet.
What's the odds?

The shortest odds would be for you standing in the brewery stand :-) :-)

Mad Keef and Rochdale to get another whacking at Oakwell, and then we visit a weakened Prem team in the 3rd round and win there on penalties. Simples!! :P

All that's lost on me, SBR. I can work out who's left when they reach the semi-final stage and that's it.

These days, it's easier just to get beaten as soon as possible...

Thuz nowt to it Gunt.

Teams that laiked last season in the Premiership and Championship are put in order according to weear the finished. There's 20 teams in the Premiership but tha teks art the seven who are laikin in Europe this year leaving 13. So the top team in the Championship is 14 in the list and tha keeps on gooin darn to weear Barnsley finished. Preston who finished above us are already art so that teks Barnsley to number 26 in the list. In order forrus to jump to 25 th and be in the top seeds one of Villa, Leeds or Sunderland, who all finished above us, ev to get knocked art toneet or Thusrday neet.
We are then in the top 25 who are guaranteed a draw against the bottom 25.

The seven teams in Europe then come back in in the third rarnd and are added to the 25 winners in Round 2 mekkin 32 teams, gooin darn to 16, then 8, then 4, then 2, then 1

Fair enough but the present format is unrecognisable from the original one in the 60s. Also the League Cup was taken seriously by everyone then including those involved in the old European Cup. A few of us will remember 68 when Halifax came to Oakwell in an early round tie. Big following from the away side, blood and thunder game, fighting on the terraces and the Halifax manager involved in a touchline brawl. A 1-0 win for the visitors on a rainy Tuesday night. It could just as easily been an FA Cup tie. How times change.

The League Cup and FA Cup are both treated the same still now . The thing is nobody cares about either of them now when they used to care about both

The Fa cup is still and always will be our main knockout competition, but the Lg cup has often been dismissed as being quite literally the second best competiton and not that important.
I think the different sponsors forcing their name on the cup doesn't help, like Milk, Littlewoods, Rumbelows, Coca Cola, and now Carabao!! :O
