This games prize is an historical gem , a real collectors piece .

It's a 1984 Scab miners snap tin , the story goes that it's owner dropped it on his way to Sherwood colliery after he was approached by a group of Yorkie pit men who asked him if he would like to join the strike and to turn around and go home , or words to that effect .

He was so overcome with emotion to be given the opportunity by his yorkie friends he scarpered straight through the pit gates and ended up doing a 12 hour night shift with no snap , tragic .

The snap tin is still untouched and it's contents have been preserved for historical reference , lemon curd sandwiches and a banana , all things yellow were the favoured diet of the Sherwood miner in the mid 80's .

The outer Sunblest bag is a particularly interesting artifact .

Its not a subject I ever really want to discuss and argue about Roma and Ive told him this. I don't get involved in the scab chants and I let those who do it get on with it, I just want to argue with them about footy when we play Notts Florist.
