PL - Table after fixtures of 6/8/17.

Please check (and, errr, let me know, like!) for errors and omissions. Remember, as both a twenty year bond holding Leeds fan and a New England Patriots season ticket holder, I'm barely human and the stresses and strains of both literally and figuratively using my cranium to enter your incredibly well-considered scores isn't always as accurate as it might be. Oh, and it hurts too.

Table is in format:- poster/previous total/weekly score/new total/status.

Apologies for the delay in posting this: I was waiting until I'd seen the Community Shield, which I finally got to watch last night. Courtois' miss put me in mind of another goalkeeper failing to score in a similar penalty shoot-out back in 1974 when, spookily, a different ABBA system was introduced. Wa, wa, wa, wa Waterloo, Harvey's like Galen he's got to score. Oh. Bugger.

Trust me, it's been a long summer....

Anyway, there was nothing truly spectacular to report from the first PL fixtures, with just nine points needed to claim the weekly top score and, self evidently, a shared place at the top of the overall board. Well done to: Carp (xxEO), Fredlufc74 (ExOx), Hgatenasty (xOEx), Orgoner (xEOx) and Tichi1 (OxEx). Joink! Top corner away from the 'keeper. B)

Espaņablanco73 (xOOx), Gupt13 (xOOx), Homer (xOOx), Johnny_Default (OxxO), Lasher (xxOO), Lufcjohn88 (xOxO), Silentman (xxEx) and T_bird7982 (xxOO) all scored six points. Bam! Straight down the middle with power. :D

The overall table needs no explanation this week (or, if I'm being honest, any other week).

Hopefully a few more returning faces (checks spelling) will appear next week.

There were two draws, so any Strike One, Strike Two or Strike Three posters would've scored six, four or two for their total lack of effort and Johnny_Default starts on six points for the season.

The results:-

(Community Shield) Arsenal v Chelsea (1-1)
(C) Sheffield United v Brentford (1-0)
(L1) Portsmouth v Rochdale (2-0)
(L2) Wycombe Wanderers v Lincoln City (2-2)

The next set of fixtures is out as a separate thread.

Good luck! B)
