Just what was going on last night ? The good people of Merseyside were attacked by hundreds of Croation thugs at Goodison, but after taking five minutes to restore some sort of order, the police allowed the game to continue, thus putting thousands of Everton fans at risk of serious injury.
In a similar situation, East Lancs finest gave up the battle against Hannover fans and called the game off, in the interests of safety of course. In a more volatile situation, with far more people at risk, Merseyside police allowed the game to continue. This cavalier attitude to public safety cannot be tolerated, the PCC must be involved, there must be an inquiry, heads must roll. Maybe the Chief Constable of Lancashire should head the inquiry, his force knows how to keep football fans in a safe environment, as all us Burnley fans will be more than willing to testify.
