Is anyone on here catching the train to Vale on Saturday?
Am I right in thinking it's the train to Longport then a 1.5 mile walk/taxi to the Vale Park?
Also any away friendly boozers near to the ground?
Thanks

As you walk up the hill to the town, there is a square on the right at the bottom end of the high street......cracking Titanic Brewery micro-pub, The Bulls Head

Away fans welcome....bbq in the beer garden
There is another "away" pub at the other end of the high street as you turn left towards the ground.....not as nice but the "last gas station" before the ground....slightly intimidating as it's now on a tight road towards the ground....lots of "banter" from passing Vale fans. I think it's the pub in this Vale v Wolves clip.....maybe others will remember it?

Not a particularly pleasant ground to visit as they have some horrible fans. Agree with the post above.
It was carnage around and in the ground last season when Sheff Utd and Bolton were in town (no surprise perhaps). My mate policed it and said it like the 70/80s.
I go by coach - in and out.

Best way if you're going to Vale. Get the coach, they tend to park within a stone's throw of the ground, so it cuts down on the likelihood of any trubshaw.

I have never been by train but having been half a dozen times by car or coach I can confirm that they have some horrible "fans" so be careful, if it's 1.5 miles from the ground you should be able to mingle if your not wearing colours but I would almost guaranty that the local loonies will be out so I wouldn't attempt the walk in a Notts shirt.
