500g bags of Tate and Lyle granulated sugar on the shelves at Booths Supermarket in Clitheroe, priced at 75p, when alongside them are 1kg bags of the very same Tate and Lyle granulated sugar, priced at 70p ?

I have no experience of working in retail of any shape or form so what do I know, but this doesn't seem right, not even remotely sensible.

We were in ASDA a few weeks ago. 24 Weetabix = £1.90 - 36 Weetabix = £1.80.

Price Clickers gone AWOL? :?

Yep! It's worth checking EVERYTHING out in the supermarkets.

If prices don't rise just check the weights. Same price but fewer beans/biscuits etc.

My Dad noticed this around 10 years ago.

The price of sugar is controlled by the stock market, hence the differing prices.

The import price of sugar into the European market hasn't varied much in the last year, in June it was around 29p per kilo, in August it was around 30p, last month it was back to around 29p. That can't account for this huge price discrepancy.

This happens all the time, you just have to keep your eye out and look for the best deal(being retired helps as it gives us more time to do this)

a prime example of this at Sainsburys was 750 ltr bottle of lambs navy Rum was 20 quid, whilst standing right next to it was litre bottle of Lambs navy at 15 quid....a no brainer really..:D

OXO cubes are controlled by the stock market Turf.

What upsets me is the size of things shrinking except the price.Prime example Hollands Pies and puddings. They used to be a lot bigger in the old days.

I realise it's a Private - Sinkov.....but help it grow - tell your sausage it's special, that if it feels good about itself...it can venture into the Corporeal.

Just slap some hot sauce on it, beat it around the pan and it will soon be jumping right out of its skin again...;D

Try Cumberland or Frankfurters.
