Well it's been a couple days now and the belief that we can beat this lot is slowly creeping back. Although I may wait to see the team news before I decide to head to the South Stand gates.

I have been keeping a low profile since Wednesday night so not sure about injuries/suspensions. Is Christie out? Wright injured?

Needs to be back to basics on Sunday. I think Del has finally got the message that we are sick of his tombola team choices.

How about....

Lewis
Logan Mckenna Arnason Shinnie
O'connor
Stewart Mclean/Christie GMS
Rooney May

I admittedly know sweet f*ck all about formations so feel free to pick away.

In/Oot - In +1
Furryboots - SS SS
Pre - pool and pints somewhere
Post - G casino then train home
Prediction - 2-1 with us seeing off der hun chasing a late equaliser

That’s my fear.
What bizarre random selection will he make?
Ball?
Reynolds?
Maynard?
who knows?
He’s capable of anything.

The whole McInnes to B@stard Garden thing is also a factor.

2-0 SEVCO.

Lewis, Logan, McKenna, Reynolds, Considine, Shinnie, O,Connor, McLean, Stewart, May and Rooney will be his team. The formation will be 4-2-3-1 as McInnes resorts back to his favoured way of setting us up.
I unfortunately expect nothing from the match as i have to accept that Del doesn’t have the budget to compete with Rangers and we should just be grateful that he is here managing our exciting brand of football.

I think we should ask the league for permission to play 2 goalkeepers as having Reynolds playing beyond our 18 yard box could be detriment to our football philosophy.

Utterly pointless trying to predict the starting eleven. McInness is on a different planet to us mere mortals so will have spent the last couple of days trying to come up with something nobody could anticipate. Only problem is the players won’t have a phuckin clue what they’re supposed to be doing

I was speaking to a hun I work with last night who was at the game. He said that two things which really annoy me...

The Huns were fearing the game and the general chat was that losing was the last straw.

They were worried about being pressed high up the park and the players being in their faces because that's what they can't play against. When it was obvious we were defending and letting May chase everything then that allowed them to run at us and May to chase and be pushed about by Alves.

A missed opportunity like no other imo. McInnes can **** right off.

He’ll be doing that on Tuesday ;)

Back to Wednesday, McInnes sh@t the bed, plain & simple.
The message was “qui**** the crowd” which has a negative tone as it insinuates frustrate them....
message should’ve been press high & pressure them.

Instead he plays 6 defenders & a sh1te formation that 30 seconds in, should’ve lost a goal.

Pish and not the first time in a bigger game.

IF we have been approached about McInnes and he has been given the go ahead to talk with Rangers I suggest our club have someone else getting the team ready for Sunday.
I really hope we get the £800,000 or whatever the fee is and he goes.
The truth is he is offering us very little now as a decent manager and has failed us game after game when the pressure is really on this season.
Maybe the change will be the lift our club needs.

It just needs settled one way or another & sounds like we’ll know next week.

IF he goes there, it stinks.
Has there been an approach?
If so, he should be on gardening leave.

I don’t think there has been to the club, but I can’t believe some sort of approach hasn’t been made to his agent to sound him out.
The scum wouldn’t want it known they approached DM & he told them to f*ck off.

Suspect AFC will be officially approached by SEVCO Monday.

No doubt that proven lying goggle eyed c**t King will promise all sorts before f*cking off back to South Africa.
If DM goes there he’ll be sacked within 12 months as he will not lay a glove on the Dhims.
The scum fans generally don’t want him either & moreso Tony Doc. Bigoted c***s don’t want a “tarrier” assistant manager.
They’re f*****g morons - they are deluded and think they can attract a top manager.

We have an advantage over Rangers tomorrow because we already know the team they will be playing and what formation.
Plus add to the fact that we are at home then we should take the game to them with a totally different approach from Wednesday evening.
Del would surely not send out a team with that approach again and due to injuries and suspensions then a change of personnel is a given.
Hopefully we play with wide attacking players (Wright and Stewart) and tell them to tear their fullbacks a new @rsehole! Stevie May and Adam Rooney both starting up front will have the Rangers defence sitting deep. If we can keep a better shape in defence then we will certainly give ourselves a far better chance. Stick Considine on the bench for this one as he fails miserably in pressure matches.
We can win this and we expect our players to fight for absolutely everything. Enough of the embarrassing defeatist attitude and get right into their ugly mugs. Snarl at we tackle them hard and over celebrate every goal we score.

It’s going to be such a weird atmosphere.
Most Dons fans resigned to the manager going the next day (& most seemingly not that fussed ironically)
The players will know it too.
How DM is allowed to be in our dug out when everything is allegedly agreed I have no idea.

Well, better in the last couple of minutes, but we just dinna look right.......hinna for weeks now.
We look like our confidence is shot.

They're nae great shakes, but what they are is organised and capable of doing the simple things.

Stewart's done OK, but too often he's isolated and he doesnae have that yard of pace to get away.

Large chunks have passed Wright by, but that run on their right back might get him going.

It's hard to tell on the box but we seem to be playing a fluid 4 2 3 1/4-4-1-1 type formation.

We're giving the ball away far too easy though, and with them just playing "game management" it really is playing into their hands.

We dinna have options to change it though, so I reckon we go with what we have.

4 points from 15 and I don't see him turning that around with this squad.

Several of us said at the time that Hayes was impetus of this team & allowing him to go to Celtic was madness.
I think slide is on for us now especially if we keep this manager.

The irony is that losing to the scum twice may give us the chance to change for the better, whilst the scum get a manager who craps himself in bigger games.
Trouble is I don’t trust Milne to pick a good manager.

O Conner 2 Awful and should be nowhere near our first team
McKenna 5 Surrounded by dross and plummeting to their level
Considine -5 Enough said
McLean 2 big headed **** that makes more mistakes than completed passes
Shinnie 5/1 As a player always trying but as a captain abject failure. Getting booked every game early doors is not a good example.
Stewart 4 created nothing
Wright 5 tried but nothing worked and made a lot of mistakes
May 6 our best player but not saying much
Rooney 0 pointless him being there
Ross 6 enthusiasm and good goal
Maynard 2 another pointless player
Harvie 2 on too late to make a difference

McInnes 0 for not learning from his mistakes again and obviously unable to motivate his players.

Yip.
- Shambles in defence.
- Shinnie’s silly early booking meant we had little in centre mid (he needs to stop nullifying himself early on)
- we have nothing out wide - no crosses or very few come in.... which in turn
- means May & Rooney get no service & look sh1te.

So in other words, all over the pitch, very poor.

Genuinely can’t see where the next win is coming.
Away to a resurgent Dundee who’ve won last two.

We got exactly what we deserved, we could have played all day and still not scored an equalizer.

We're fvcked when we come up against a side with any sort of pace.

McLean can fvck right off now. When you're chasing the game against 10 men the last thing you want is for your midfield "playmaker" to continually lose possession - but thats exactly what the hun loving cvnt did.

Agreed. I would actually say our best player and one of his better games. Nice feet but nowhere near quick enough.

We are so slow getting the ball up the top half of the pitch. Ball carriers like Hayes, McGinn and even Pawlett are all greatly missed.

Great to see Ross and Harvie come on. I would like to see Harvie in at LB from now on as Considine is finished.

Started off at high tempo and were obviously pumped up for the game but soon reverted back to norm for this season.

Frank Ross's goal was top drawer and he was the one shining light for me.

We were seriously lacking any kind of bite today and for me that was the main difference between the two sides.

We missed Christie, which is depressing seeing as he's not even our player.

Can Shinnie please stop getting himself booked for needless challenges and arguing with the ref for the remainder of the game. You just know a hun ref like Dallas or Madden would have given him a second yellow.

Another frustrating McLean performance. For every brilliant pass there's half a dozen stupid giveaways to the opposition. Also, what's happened to his shooting? Was never brilliant but would at least get close with 1 or 2 raspers, which could also potentially provide something for our strikers to feed off.

Wright looked nervous and out of his depth.

McKenna needs to work on his distribution.

Considine once again in no-man's land for the first goal. Not even a challenge - Fcuking scandalous!!

O'Connor gives me the heeby jeebies every time he's either on the ball or near the action. Also, like Considine, plays very close to the edge with his manhandling of opposing players in dangerous areas.

Logan should be shot for allowing Windass to get round him for the second. What's happened to him this season, his game's been nowhere near as good as we've come to expect.

Stewart looked a bit more like the player I thought we were getting, but still not effective enough for me and poorly supported by those around him.

May looks too slow at times and needs the support of someone with a bit of pace around him.

Did Maynard touch the ball today?

How often did the snake show that amount of passion when playing for us?

Special mention to the ballboy who in the first half managed to draw evil eyes from the snake, and then in the second half made him come to take the ball from him instead of throwing it to him when he demanded it - and all in front of the orcs.

rico94
03-12-2017, 05:00 PM
Not sure if it’s been said but Wright was atrocious today, twice in the first half his first touch resulted in the ball going out for a throw in,he looked petrified to take on any of their players, and not for the first time he was standing ball watching.Hayes and McGinn use to run down the wing to give the full backs an option,he just stands on the wing looking at the ball.

I had high hopes for the lad but he has to do a hell of a lot better.

Stewart should be doing his work in more dangerous areas. That's tactical and is the manager's job. Nearly everything you've said there, the blame could be laid at the foot of the manager. Except for Considine, but then again, he keeps picking him. I hate to single out Big Andy, but truth is he's not the player he was without Hayes. Rooney could still be decent, but the service he is getting is abysmal.

One of my biggest big bears is the decline on the team out wide.
Stewart is slow & never gets a good ball in.
Wright just seems a bit “bunny in the headlights” to be honest.
GMS hasn’t had it for about 2-3 years now.

That has a knock on effect for the strikers.
If McGinn & Hayes were there either May or Rooney would still get 20 goals.
Maynard? He’s gone 24 games without a goal & hasn’t looked like scoring.

Imo we need two centre mids
Put Shinnie to left back
Sign a right sided wide player.

Maybe the new manager might address this in January having assessed the squad over the 6 games we have prior to transfer window opening

Did Andy Walker write it?

Bill Leckie.

I watched the highlights on youtube last night though and Andy Walker did say that Ryan Jack was unlucky to be sent off.

I take it the smoke canister getting chucked on the pitch by the Sevconians will be included in Collums match report.

Kamara from Dundee would be one for me. I'd like O'Hara as well, but doubt we could sign both of them. I'd take McGinn back in a second, but if not him, sign Cadden from Motherwell, and give Ross more game time.

The little bits I've seen of Kamara, he looks decent
Not so sure about O'Hara, aside from his goals against the scum, is he that good?

The lad Cadden at Motherwell would cost too much

Agree about McGinn - definite upgrade on Greg Stewart who still looks overweight, which 5 months in to a season is unforgiveable and unprofessional, especially when he has no pace anyway

O'Hara has potential, which would mean our manager would need to actually be decent at coaching to bring it out of him. Aye, Cadden would cost too much, but we can dream. Maybe if we scouted outside of England we could find these players more easily though?

Stewart has great feet, just not sure he's being deployed in the right way. Think he's more of a number 10 than a winger.

Stewart is slow, not his fault just a fact. Spoke to a Dundee mate of mine. We are playing Stewart too deep. He needs to be further up the park. He beats men all the time but hasn't the pace to get away from them. If he was further up and more inside when he beats his man he would have a chance of a shot. Another example of |McInnes trying to shoehorn players into the wrong position unfortunately.

He's an old fashioned inside forward.

Stands out a mile.

He's arguably been the biggest disappointment of all the summer signings.
He's not a winger - far too slow.
He seldom if ever puts in good crosses for the likes of May & Rooney.
Is he here for the season or just until January?
Pathetic that he's still clearly over weight having been back in training for 5 months.
Unprofessional - no way would I want us to sign him permanently

Greg Stewart has been asked to fulfil a role he's clearly not comfortable fulfilling. Like many of our players.

We have 2 genuine wingers in the squad - GMS and Wright. I don't think they have played together in the same match. It means McInnes has asked Stewart, McLean, Rooney etc to play out of position.

May and Rooney clearly won't work together because we never go with a straight 2 through the middle.

The tactics are bewildering and it means we're effectively playing with the handbrake on all the time.

For me, the team should be set up to maximise what we have in attack, because what we have in defence is extremely limited.

I'd play:

Lewis
Logan Arnason McKenna Considine
Shinnie McLean
Wright Christie GMS
Rooney

And just get the ball out wide and into the box for Rooney.

The sooner we sign either a proper left back and/or a proper ball winning midfielder who can also play a bit the better. We're complete pushovers in there. With McLean leaving we could actually do with signing 2 quality midfielders and pushing Shinnie back to left back - Considine is honking too.

Tansey is a charlatan and O'Connor is howling.

It's about time McInnes set the team up to achieve its potential instead of hamstringing ourselves with bizarre combinations of players and 3 at the back nonsense.

EDIT: I should say before anyone else does, that I know the team I have chosen still has deficiencies. I personally think, with a run of games and consistent selection, it is the best we can put out. Rooney is a complete waste of a jersey if you fail to service him properly, but a fantastic goalscorer with the right attacking combination behind him.

He didn't look overweight yesterday. As previously stated he is just feckin slow.No one apart from McInnes thinks he is a winger. He is an inside forward or number 10. Its not his fault he is being played out of position. He was far from the worst yesterday.

That effort he had where he dragged the ball away from the defender showed what he can do. All right, it was a ****e shot, but that's where the guy should be playing. Unfortunately that's also where Christie should be playing, so why the feck sign Stewart? He hasn't been great, but I don't blame him one bit. I also don't think he's overweight.

I see the huns have appealed Judas's red card. Now we all know the games a bogey but if that gets rescinded then they will obviously have given up trying to hide the fact. If that had been one of our players it would have been all over the back pages baying for retribution.

Of course it will be rescinded, the game's as bent as a three pound note.

He's had 2 rescinded this season already.

I'm never going to watch highlights of that game so I only saw it live.

Looked a sending off to me.

You have a pop at Tansey and O'Connor yet play the biggest liability in the side at left back???

Your post lost all credibility when you mentioned Considine.

Was it just me or was the 2nd goal sneaky as fu@k:

Ross loses the ball (he's young & will learn) as no one shows for him then Miller sneakily blocks Mclean (yeah he was on the pitch) from stopping the break in the middle of the pitch, then Considine is slowly jogging (sprinting for him) to stop the cross coming in (down our very weak side) and finally how did Logan let Windass push him to get a couple of yards on him before sprinting into the box unchallenged.

To me the whole team just weren't up for it (didn't look motivated), no desire, no determination or a want/need to win. A lot of things don't help but the players need to look at themselves long and hard and ask "did i give it my all?"

Logan in particular has disappointed me in the last few games. I don't see them live so difficult to judge if it's attitude but O'Connor , Considine etc. you expect to be sh1te because, well....they are. But Logan can play, even if he does have defensive frailties, he is better than he has shown lately.

What part of my post did you miss where I conceded that even our 'best' team, in my eyes, has deficiencies?

Maybe you also missed the part where I said I'd move Shinnie to left back basically at the first opportunity we get - that being when we have central midfielders worthy of the name.

Logan's been in poor form all season, he was at fault for both goals on Sunday and the Killie goal last week.

Plenty of folk have been calling for Harvie to replace Considine but Shay deserves to be dropped for Harrington.

I think your strongest starting X1 you mentioned the other day is pretty close to mine?

Lewis
Logan Arnason McKenna Harvie
McLean Shinnie
Stewart Christie GMS
May

Properly motivated and with the right attitude, we should be good enough to strongly challenge for 2nd

The flaws in that team?
Harvie is a complete unknown but I'm sick of the plodding Considine
I'd have Shinnie at left back to see if it stops him getting booked every game in the first 15 minutes, nullifying 50% of your centre midfield - ideally a Shinnie type for midfield would be good but with the current squad as it is, hes stays in midfield
Weak out wide in comparison to the last few seasons but there's little alternative

This would be my team too.

A lot of people getting on Shinnies case about bookings and yes some of them are daft but by christ we need somebody getting stuck in and he does it because he is one of a few who actually cares.

Crazy to think our strength over the last few years is now our weakness. Maybe just go through the middle, never going to happen but something different would be:

4-3-1-2

Lewis

Logan Arnason McKenna Harvie

McLean O'Connor Shinnie

Christie

May Rooney

One bit of good news though. Even though the record and Andy Walker said it was harsh. Unionjacks red card stands. Failed appeal
