a bit like the all weather pitch at Palmerston

is not all weather after all. Mind you they'd probably been watering it all afternoon.

i see why teams like killie and accies have astro pitches and i do think they are good in terms of giving back to the community but the amount of games which have been called off on astro pitches in last few weeks must be questioned by SFA. When teams can get games on grass pitches, how can the astro pitches not be playable?? when our game was called off v qots. Elgin city's game at home was on. the weather in elgin was meant to be colder than down in dumfries but they managed to get their game on? how is that possible esp considering the finances of elgin (no undersoil heating so on)

these pitches are meant to mean less games called off but these pitches are shocking no matter what the weather is. if its too cold the pitches still freeze if they are too warm the pitch becomes "sticky" meaning the quality of football is affected.

All win for them and not rest of scotland? injuries and recovery increased if you are not playing on it all the time as well. only in scotlans

It is blatantly so they can rent out the pitch weeknights for extra revenue without worrying about wearing out the turf.

If 4G is so great how come it's not installed at the Bernabau or Old Trafford? Go figure.

Some leagues have a novel idea about playing football outside the 3 coldest months of the year! Just imagine that!

The qots one was definitely questionable. Hamilton however wasn’t due to the pitch. It snowed christmas day and wasn’t cleared then froze over boxing day and yesterday. Only hamilton to blame there really

Look up 'Desso Grassmaster' James.

Yeh I'm aware of Grassmaster but that's basically a hybrid pitch which is essentially natural grass but is simply reinforced with artificial fibres. They've got it at Murrayfield as well. It stops the turf 'cutting up' over the course of the season and stop bald patches developing. It's still a grass pitch though.
