He bagged his 10th goal in 15 games for Melbourne this week and they want for the rest of the season!

With all our injuries we cannot afford to be loaning out a 12 million pound striker bang in form. yes we know SB threw his dummy out (literally) but come on, I am sure Ross Mac feeding Davis or Hogan up front would not be a bad choice?

Had we got all our strikers firing on all cylinders then I could say, forget him but we do not have that luxury

I can see your point in some respects Dave, but I feel it could be a case of another player suddenly becoming ‘Messi’ after a long spell in the bomb squad/out of the club. It appears that he won’t play for Bruce again, as much by choice than the other way around.
SB wants him slimmer, fitter and right in the head. All RMCs troubles are on these shores, ex wife etc so in Oz he has left all his issues here and is flourishing in sub-standard league.
SB, may have his faults but I really don’t feel that he has been wrong on this. The player is overweight, unfit, misses training, does fk all to change and can blame no one else but himself. He has stated that he doesn’t want to come back anyway, so in this instance I back the manager. As I do whenever he throws his petrified, negative tactics in the bin and goes for it.

Bruce mocked him in the press, but Mc was correct, had he climbed the fence and sprained an ankle it would have been a bigger disservice to the club than missing a couple of hours of training.

On the other side he was unpopular in Fulham's locker room and he arrived to DiMatteo's side grossly out of shape and over weight. He did begin to work on that and by the Derby and Forest matches last season he was beginning to look sharp and was a whisker away from scoring crucial goals in both matches that ended as most of RDM games did in a tie.

I really feel that Bruce and his poor man management has wasted £12 million of Dr Xia's investment and it looks as though McCormack will to him what Darren Bent was to Lambert.

In comparison to Mr A V F C aka Gabby’s violations, I.e. missing 3 training sessions Ross Mc’s punishment is far too strong & very costly to our club

He should of been fit and sharp at pre season mate. By Derby and Forest he should of been flying, had he been, he’d have been closer than a whisker and we would have won. No ifs or buts, he was totally unprofessional and has continued to be so. Jesus, Melbourne nearly sent him packing after 2 weeks.
Poor man management? SB, whilst being somewhat reactive and negative tactically, has standards that he expects from ALL of his players. I doubt it was just ‘Gate-Gate’ that caused RMCs downfall, he was unprofessional before SBs arrival.
One could argue that any manager worth his salt would be able to turn RMC around. Personal and mental issues have been rumoured to be another of RMC’s problems. Much of the latter did not become public until after ‘Gate-Gate’, so SB can be exonerated on that issue of mentioning said gates. If I remember correctly, the gate thing was common knowledge after RMC made it a public excuse, SB was just answering the journo’s question on it.
Bad man management would have been to sack him, as what would have happened if it was an academy player.
He doesn’t want to come back to the home of his demons, we can’t force him, can we?
Rumors afoot that another Championship and two League 1 teams are interested, as well as clubs in OZ.
Time will tell mate, but one thing’s for sure, what a waste of talent and 12m.

Exiled, that is why I wrote on the other hand because I know it isn't black and white, there are 50 shades of grey in there. However, you don't publicly ridicule a player like he did unless you know 100 percent that he will respond in the right way. He knew McCormack for about 3 weeks before calling him out. Evidently Ross doesn't have a good sense of humour about it and instead of quietly getting to the bottom of what happened and trying to move him in January or in the summer at a slight loss he will now lose him for a big fat zero like we did with £18-24 million Bent.

I’m far from SBs biggest fan mate, but I really don’t think he did much wrong in this case. RMC let SB, Dr X, his teammates and us fans down by being unprofessional with his timekeeping, conditioning, performances and lifestyle.
Has it been the timekeeping, conditioning, performances and lifestyle to be reasonably expected from a 12m, 60 grand a week for 5 years player??? Surely not.
He’s p1ssed on our chips for too long.

I think he screwed up EV. We didn't need to know about his behaviour. It should have been dealt with behind the scenes. If he couldn't sort it then sell him. Think there wouldn't have been clubs lining up to buy him for 8-9 million? A loss to the club, yes, but more tolerable than the 11-12 million loss we are now facing especially in a league apparently so harsh on clubs not balancing their books.

Bruce is a hard nosed football player that can probably coach, but he is not a smart businessman and that is why I believe he is not a good manager.

You most likely right Statesie, SB could’ve denied RMCs gatagate claims and his fitness levels. But when the press small a rat they’re all over it. There were stories going about the place regarding drink, marital and mental health problems. SB just tried a lighthearted reply to a journo about the gates, the lesser of 100 evils for RMC. No mention about the crux of the issue, RMCs lifestyle and private life affecting his ability to work.
In Oz, all RMCs problems are a lifetime away, as soon as ne returns, then so will his problems. He should seek help, I’m sure 60 grand a week would cover the very best that therapy has to offer. Forget football and look after his children and his health.
So I’m afraid in answer to the O.P, my answer is an emphatic NO.
With regards our investment? Mental illness is an injury, a sickness and should be treated the same as any physical injury. Insurance covers careers ended by injury and if RMC wishes to return to these shores then he should consider his family and his own wellbeing, and retire due to mental illness and seek help.
Harsh??? Not when you truly recognise the destruction that mental illness causes.
I have suffered in the past so I quit my job 15 years ago and retrained, re-educated and have never looked back. My family and my mental wellbeing are more important than huge financial gain.
