Is this to replace Dom Ball, beef up the U20 side, join the 1st team squad, or phit?

Never played a game for Citeh, been on loan to some div 2 Italian diddy teams, by the looks of it

Defensive mid apparently so I'm going to guess hes here to replace Tansey and hopefully stop us ****ing about with O'Connor there.

As long as we get one or two of these i'll be fairly happy.

Some point in the future, every player in the world will be on loan from Man City or Chelsea.

To be fair, loan or not, he has to be a better option than Tansey. This boy has been playing regular in Norway as of what looks like their last game before the winter break.

I don't mind loans like this.

At least we've strengthened in the right areas this transfer window which hasn't always happened in the past, lets face it he can't be any worse than Tansey was.

This looks a nae bad side:

Nae idea.

Might have preferred the other one, but maybe he has more of a chance with Citeh given he was the Development Squad Captain.

This might be a better opportunity to make more permanent if he fairs well in the next 6 months

Pacman1903

I did notice he was out of contract in the summer. He may end up permanent if any use

Or if he's any good he could sign for Celtic and they could loan him out to ( insert name here)

To be fair, I'm not sure who we have youth wise for that particular role. All the highly rated ones are wingers or attacking midfielders. A decent centre back and striker right now as well I believe. Storrie is the only youth player if you like and he's long term injured.

20013 World Cup U-17 winner along with Iheanacho, prior to them both going to City. Couple of seasons regular football in the Eliteserien. Called up to the Nigerian squad in October for couple of friendlies - outside chance of making World Cup squad. Brother is at Arsenal.

In an ideal world - would have liked to see the club make a move for Docherty. If realism is going with the City nurtured potential of this young lad ahead of seeing O'Connor, Tansey or Ball in the engine room - we possible might have a better crack at having a Kante like effect in there.

Will be interesting to see how much game-time he is given as a regular arrangement with City would be no bad thing for a club living within its means. The wee lad may be in for a bit of a shock turning up for training in our version of the £200m Etihad campus.

I didn’t realise he has a long term injury. Ach...I am a hard lad to please about defensive midfielders coming in. We don’t need 2 every game we play. Nothing to do with the lad though as it is Del’s tactics that I don’t like.
Good luck to the lad and welcome to the Dons.

I can't seem to find anything posted by AFC today about this loan signing. I had seen them earlier on as well. Wonder why this is? Maybe it's not a done deal? Work permit related?

It looks like there has been a c*** up on the recruitment front. I thought there was a bit of cash floating about to at least get players in who aren't on loan.

Haha - not bad. Unless the boy is utterly amazing it's probably too tough a tune to bother trying to fit words to.

On another note, who was the last Nigerian we had? He was here for a while, touted as being mega talented and ended up playing maybe just once or twice - Uchechi or something?

donsdaft
12-01-2018, 01:25 PM
He's not a winger though (is he?)

If he turns out to be a honest hard working midfielder with a bit of talent then he will be an improvement.

But as a loan player he's a stopgap and should be treated as such.

12-01-2018, 01:39 PM
As long as he's here he gets my support. Let's hope hes working really hard in an attempt to break into the Man City team.

It's a bit of a double edged sword in that if he's really good, a championship, Celtic or some other pile of cash laden ****e will just snap him up.

He could find himself on the pitch a fair bit with Tansey away and Storie long term injured.
