Just looking at the Scottish football gossip on the BBC website and found this link:

Apparently Gary Mackay-Steven doesn't think that the departure of himself and Stuart Armstrong was the reason for our relegation.

I feel that it was a pretty big part of a chain of events that led to us taking the drop.

See when the Tim Two were sold it was blatantly obvious that Jackie couldn't put a team together. Look at the performances and results to the end of the season. The worst covered over the cracks was us beating the Dee on the final day of the season. Our chairman though was nowhere to be seen and he thought Jackie was doing a great job, while he was over in Oz with the Newcastle Jets pish.

Then come the signings in the close season. Negligence by our chairman and heres hoping he gets bugger all for his shares as DUFC are shoite down to his fatuation with recouping his money.

So losing two players accounts for us being relegated a year and a half later?
Nope it was the subsequent poor recruitment, one dimensional tactics, AWOL chairman and blustering buffoon manager that hit the nail in the coffin.

And it's also very much prevalent in us rotting in the Championship and "celebrating" only getting cuffed 4-2 by a team that three years ago we were very much on a par with.

We were getting set up to be sold.....the chairman took his eyes off the prize and Jackie & co set the wheels in motion for our downfall. The Stevie Campbell saga did a lot more damage within the club than believed with players trust and respect for the club being shattered with stories of people getting cash for sales. We changed from a club that had a family feel about it, into a club where everyone was out for themselves. This is a cancer that the club has struggled to shake and we will be stuck in this rut unti we have root and branch changes at the club....currently, the only way I can see this happening would be by ploughing the club into administration and hoping it can be saved. I don't think the tim two being sold relegated us....we were destroyed by greed and selfishness.

For any decent manager it shouldn't have been the reason for our relegation. He was out of contract in the summer before the season began for starters, so regardless of who was in charge he wouldn't have been at United.

It was Mcnamara's failure to replace Armstrong with anyone half decent that cost us.

The selling of the Tim Two and in particular the timing of it was essentially the Snake's 'Gerald Ratner' moment. And we all know what happened to Ratners Jewellers after that.

100% correct.

Macnamara was a charlatan and in my 46 yrs on this planet our worst ever manager. He rode on the crest of a wave when we were giving teams 4 nearly every game for a while but when our best players were being sold he didn't have a fkn clue what to do next. A decent manager would have been able to stabilise us but the downward spiral that ensued was definitely the catalyst for where we are now.

When Mixu came in we had a good enough squad not to be relegated without doubt.

There are lots of reasons why we went down - ST and Mixu unfortunately being a poor manager are main culprits for me as to the actual relegation itself

Before that with Sackie and ST things turned sour and the selling of Gms and Armstrong started a downward trend. After a change of manager though it needn’t have been as bad as going from top 6 to relegated

selling Gms and SA showed how much of an incompetent manager jackie was, his failure to adapt for the remainder of that season showed and was heavily relied on ciftci bailing us out. then the summer he had the opportunity to replace key players and prevent the downward spiral but instead he signed inexperienced/untested players and then relied on players who werent to the same quality of the departed players (Dow, erskine, connelly etc). the team we had when he left was good enough to stay up but was nowhere near the same level of quality of the previous couple of seasons.

although Thompson takes huge blame for the starting of the downward spiral. jackie and mixu are bigger culprits imo. jackie had no plan B and had lost interest while mixu just didnt get any reaction from the players he inherited to pull us out of trouble.

The Slippy Slope

ST becoming chairman with his 5 year business plan to get his dad's money back.
Selling GMS and SA to our rival before 2 Cup Finals against them.
Stevie Campbell saga.
Revelation about Jackie getting 10% of players sold.
Appointing Mixu who was the first and last interviewed.
Letting players go and recruiting badly.
Newcastle Jets nonsense.
Ray's one up front Plan A strategy not getting us back up.
Csaba losing Fraser and Fivie,
ST holding tightly to ownership refusing to sell cheaply.

Meanwhile we slip further and further down.

FWIW I wouldn’t have played GMS in that final anyway having signed a pre contract with them

A chairman who:

sold 2 of our best players to our rivals when we could of done a potential treble (not saying we wouldve of but we were In all 3 with a good chance).

Agreed to give a manager % of player sales.

Replaced every **** manager he brought In with more free agent dumplings.

Has us In debt after making over 10 million In transfers.

Enough Is enough, boycott until the rat sells up.

Is ST doing a Bill Hiddleston of Third Lanark? Slowly but surely killing our club.
