I don't wish Keane any harm or ill or any lack of success-except when playing against us.

There are two kinds of "Leaving the Turf" in current times.

The first is to go to a lesser club when a little over the top and seeking to prolong a career for as long as possible.

I wish those players the very best in life and thank you for your efforts at Burnley.

There is a second category.

That one that sees greater reward (financially) and greater honours than can be atcheived at humble Burnley.

History shows that you may get the first but that the others elude you.

Keane was great for us and even greater was the money we made for us with his transfer.

We had a very good replacement and his leaving at a playing level was hardly noticed.

Yes fans loved him and yes he was good for us.

But the gloves are off.

You play for the opposition seeking to take us down so don't expect a floral tribute on return.

Warm applause? If you must.

But not by me.

Think he was instrumental in getting Lennon here and had nothing but good to tell him, so he merits a friendly welcome if he waves to the fans. Then as BT says - hope irs all downhill for him
