It’s 5-0 now. Brilliant cross from Terry Hawkridge picks out Remaye Campbell who plants a firm header past the Rolls Royce keeper.

And it’s 6-0. Brilliant from Hawkridge again, cruises into midfield, slips a pass to Thomas who crashes one in from 20 yards.

We've certainly got the Central Midlands Football League title, sewn up on this showing.

It’s 7-0. ALessandra fires right into the far corner. Absolutely ridiculous finish.

It’s 8-0. Sam Osborne takes an advantage of a mistake from the goalkeeper.

It’s 9-0 now. Nathan Thomas with his second of the game with a terrific finish.

It’s 10-0. Matt Tootle finds the corner from 20 yards. And then does the Ronaldo celebration. LOLZ.

What kind of team did RR pick or are we now THAT good........?

countygump
07-07-2018, 12:31 PM
Bloody Hell, you move away from the puter for 5 mins....................

It’s 12-0, Enzio Boldewijn produces a mesmerising bit of skill to tee up Alex Howes.

It’s 13-0. Boldewijn gets another assist laying it on a plate for Stead.

It’s 14-0. Andy Kellett thumps in following good work from Jon Stead.

16-0 : Boldewijn was picked out by Tootle, whose shot was blocked, and Stead turns the ball into the net.

Maintaining or bettering a 15 goal margin makes it the biggest known Notts victory of all time in a friendly, beating the previous best of 15-1 at Newquay on 26th July 2002.

6-0 last year If I recall correctly?

17-0 this year without our first choice strikers anywhere to be seen either, obviously this game means nothing but good early indications, COYP.

A very pleasant early afternoon outing but not one to draw too many conclusions from due to the standard of opposition. When Stead beats his marker for pace you start to get an idea! Also a chance to say hello to a couple of mates I only see at Notts games. Plenty of the new shirts worn by Notts fans, and a chance to put a few faces to names. We usually win this game by 7 or 8, so the signs are encouraging.

That was Linby colliery last year.
It wasn't them this time, so god knows what pub side that was.

Not a dig Irish, just amazed Notts are starting a campaign against a team like that? It's a pub team FFS.
My son knows some of them, they play then sip the afternoon away.

I was there, Cher. A lovely summer's day as I recall. We ended up having a beer with Billy Deardon in the clubhouse after the game - what a charming fella.

Because the first game is always just a run out for the players so playing someone at that level is perfect as long as you can rely on them not to injure your players as someone did to Spencer a couple of years back.

Funny story but back in 1999 our club here went to Luton to play some semi pro team and also a complete piss up for the weekend, that team expected us to be a semi pro outfit from Ireland but it was a mix of young lads and bar flies who were just there for the weekend, not one of us was even sober playing the game and they just beat us 5-1, great memories :)

It was indeed. I remember congratulating Danny Allsopp on his tally, and he was very put out that I'd miscounted by one. Did he get 5 that day?

It used to be so much fun planning trips away around preseason friendly tours, shame it's not like that these days. Have fairly hazy memories of being in Bideford for a match and there was a beer festival going on :D

I grew up with Jez, the final manager of Rolls, he told me that they were gonna build houses on the sports fields. Haven't been up there since they folded, I guess they haven't started yet - which is surprising because the council's mantra is 'if it don't move, build on it'.
A couple of weeks ago there was a massive traffic jam caused by the roadworks at Nabbs Lane (8 weeks and counting) - a flatbed artic was stuck in it so long that ADC built a bungalow on it.

You're joking right?

A football league side, playing a Sunday pub side is good preparation?
My god man, they need working and making to think up to speed. A team that downs 5 pints after a match and smokes 20 Benson & Hedges is not a run out. You can do that with your own squads.

Well it used to be good preparation when we were cr@p. But we're aiming for better than your lot in the next couple of games so that we get a real test.

We were lucky in that me and my mates planned to spend time down in Cornwall anyway. So it was pretty much a perfect coincidence. I remember greeting all the Notts fans around Newquay with the customary 'YOU PIESSSS!' during the day. We even managed to 'YOU PIESSS' the Notts coach somewhere on the road near Watergate Bay :)

I seem to remember asking Danny Allsopp how many he got after the game, but I can't remember what the number was. Definitely at least five.

You are basing that assumption on what? That team yesterday. Try going down and watching the kids... there are some fabulous kids teams and individuals in Hucknall. The youth set up is top class.
The number of players in amateur football has declined at an alarming rate across the county to the extent that the team you saw against Notts yesterday, won the TREBLE last season without being beaten. So what does that say about the rest of the County?

Yesterday was a run out, against a side from the local community. Something we all know AH and Notts want to forge closer links to. The lads that played against Notts yesterday will be telling there kids and grand kids about that experience for ever.

Mike Edwards’ injury was against West Ham in the Carling Cup when he did his cruciate, a month into the season.
