Next up is Hull at home. We are the form team in this division at home, but take nothing for granted in this topsy turvy division where big strong players are the norm and high balls and set pieces win matches.
Hull beat us 3-2 up there and missed a penalty, all their goals coming in the last twenty minutes.

Last play off place is up for grabs, with the Swans only having a slight chance, even if they win all their matches.
We need results to go our way big time though. Middlesboro look to be favourites with their easy games, but if Derby, the present incumbents of 6th place win their three matches then nobody can catch them.

67 Derby - Bristol City (A), Swansea City (A), West Brom (H)
67 Middlesboro - Reading (H), Rotherham (A)
66 Bristol City - Derby (H), Millwall (A), Hull (A)
63 Sheff Wed- Preston (A), Queens Park Rangers (H)
62 Swans- Hull City (H), Derby (H), Blackburn (A)

Potter after the Ipswich win:
"The play-offs is a big outside possibility, but we have to keep winning our games.
The fact we are still talking about it as a possibility heading towards the last weeks says a lot about our group.
We will keep going, we need to win our two games at home and then we see.
We want to finish the season as strongly as we can. The play-offs is out of our hands, but we look towards the next match and we will try and win.”

So disappointing. The draw felt like a defeat after taking a 2-0 lead and dominating the match. This was a repeat of the away fixture with late goals from Hull turning the match once again.
Why didn’t Rodon come on when we went 2-0 up, to boost the defence, knowing our vulnerability to conceding late on. We seem incapable of holding the lead sometimes and it needs sorting this summer.

Despite 70% possession and going 2-0 up, it was another match thrown away after dominating for 77 mins of the 90. It was only then, after introducing subs, that Hull finally woke up and threatened us.
The number of matches thrown away at the death has cost us promotion this season.
Our football is a joy to watch, but our defending is embarrassing sometimes.
It starts with the goalkeeper. How can our defenders have confidence in a goalkeeper that’s rooted to his line and weak in the air. That should be our priority in the summer - to replace Nordfelt and possibly Mulder as well. There are much better goalkeepers out there that are not afraid to dominate their area. The Championship is full of teams whose tactics are based on high crosses into the box and set pieces to get their goals and this has been our weakness all season, defending those balls.

“There are much better goalkeepers out there “
Look who Norwich got on a free transfer- Tim Krul, Dutch International, ex PL player with Newcastle and Brighton. Just got promoted to the PL again with Norwich.
These bargains are out there.
