I read that Cambridge played a second team yesterday
I don't think that breaks any FA rules though ?

Will they do the same at Macc' ?

3-0 Swindon.Been let down all season by Notts. When they have had the chance to do something about it,blown it.Saturday will be no different.Result will be irrelevant anyway. Macc will get at least a point

Good question......are they allowed to deliberately field a weakened/second team in such a crucial fixture?

Cambridge still have the chance to move up a place and I'm sure they run a season bonus scheme like most dependent on where they finish...Could be an extra tenner in the pay packet ;)

Notts stay up on goal difference.

We only need to win 8-0 as we would have scored more goals than them

Where's the cambridge fan who pops up on here occasionally. Wondered if he knew anything about his team, whether they are trying or not.

Swindon did this a few years back in league one when playing Colchester in last game as Mark Cooper was resting first team for the playoffs. It did not do them any good though and possibly lost them momentum, but it meant Colchester got a point and contributed to our relegation that season from league one under Moniz. So anything can be possible. Just hoping Cambridge are not wanting to be third bottom, which they will be if they lose, so will be fighting for their league position and the extra pennies it earns by being a place higher in the league.

Macc draw, Notts win. We go down on goal difference. Horrible.

The magic roundabout 0 Notts 2. Macc sign a former 300k winger on an emergency loan who turns out to be so bad he helps relegate them. I know what you're thinking, that's just silly, there is no way we will win 2-0.

That's what I'm going for too. Lots of pressure on Macc too; anything could happen. Cambridge, however, should be torched should they field some fuqqed up 3rd team.

2,000 Notts fans.
2-1 win for us. (Hemings and JOB)

Might not be as straightforward as some think for Macc. Not sure whether to stick or twist, Cambridge decent on the counter, (well they looked alright against us, though most teams do). Will get the result they need though.

What I think will happen on Saturday...

EITHER: Notts produce by far their performance of the season to smash Swindon to smithereens. Meanwhile Macclesfield get a routine win over Cambridge.

OR: Cambridge amaze everybody by easily beating Macclesfield, and we fail to beat Swindon.

Its not over .... 2005/2006 if you remember, Notts need a point for FL survival playing Bury at Meadow Lane. They are down there as well above us on goal difference, same points, also needing only a point but they took a 2 goal lead. Now it’s true Bury also were fighting for survival and needing that point and its true we eventually got the point, but when you’re down there anything can happen. The similarities are there that we were playing a team at the bottom and we could easily have capitulated. Oxford lost as well, but bet they would never of thought we could be in a position like we were after 85 minutes !!!

Keep saying it’s a tall order, but it’s not impossible, we just need to make sure we do our bit.

I can't remember the last time we escaped relegation by overtaking a team.
I remember a few times where we have been outside the relegation places needing a point or win to secure safety.

I only been a supporter since 90 so obviously before that maybe.

The Huddersfield win, was we outside the relegation places before KO?

"Possibly lost momentum"....mmm for me Ardley's biggest failing when he changed the team after great results against three promotion candidates against Newport and we got trounced at home again

people keep going on about those three games lets face it lincoln missed a penalty and we could/should have lost ,mansfield had an off day they were poor on the day we got lucky. beating forest green away was a decent result but every dog has its day unfortunately this season we've only had a handful of good days and many many poor ones so many i cant even remember all of the teams who have trounced us 4-0 and 4-1

Macc have got to go for the win, sitting back for a draw is a dangerous game so hopefully that'll give Cambridge a few chances also. What would be the most gutting result would be Macc losing and us failing to win :/
