Chris Wilder. There was a time we could have been serious contenders for his signature as our manager. Nevertheless, he encapsulates all the qualities that most Notts fans look for in their manager and players. This is what we need to get back to asap.

Rumour was he had a chat when replacing Moniz I believe but he said he was happy at Northampton. We ended up with Fullerton...

One thing all his clubs have given him is time, something we need to learn from.

It obviously wasn't a persuasive enough chat. When it comes to managers, you only have one so penny pinching is not the best policy. I thought back then he would be great for Notts too.

He certainly is an excellent manager he's done brilliantly everywhere he's been.

If you're talking about achievement relative to resources, then Chris Wilder certainly catches the eye because he's achieved promotion.

I'd say another contender is John Coleman at Accrington Stanley, because taking a club of that size/budget to a mid-table finish is League One is just as remarkable in its own way.

Wilder wouldn’t have been a success at Notts because he would have been sacked.
Many blades fans didn’t want him and I think he only won 7 points from the first 10 games and they sat bottom of league one.
At this point he would have been hounded out of Meadow Lane.

He had 1 point from his first five matches there and yes a few of their fans wanted him to go.
