I was reading that the club receive a £500,000 parachute payment next season - and I was wondering....what did we get for being in League 2?

How much money from the league/TV rights etc have we lost by being relegated? Anyone know?

We lose about £500K as in the EFL you get just shy of £500k TV monies and just shy of £500K for the deal with the EPL.

So £1M down to £500K approx.

Then add in a further reduction of turnover from reduced crowds, especially away followings.

i think the 500k number being bandied about is rounded up by media types, its nearer to £465,000
the number is related to the amount received by clubs relegated from the premier league, which was agreed after the latest TV rights deal

if we were in league 2 next year we would have got 1/22 of £10.3m i think, £465,000 ish the parachute payment is pretty much the same as the amount we would have got for being in league 2 next season, the season after we'd get a 50% payment and if we are still in the national league in the third year we wouldn't get anything

i haven't bothered to check yet what sort of payments national league teams get from TV money but i'm guessing it won't be anything like £450k but as there's are a lot more non league coverage than there used to i would imagine we'll get our share of televised games and pick up individual match fees that way

Agreed my numbers were crude roundups not exact figures as I couldn’t be bothered to look up the correct figures from the other week!

weirdly next year could be a good one for us, you would imagine the playing budget will be culled to allow a lot of the higher earners to either move on to league clubs or retire, many of them should seriously consider the latter in my opinion

We would still be getting L2 money while operating on a conference budget, being a big draw like orient were this year we'd probably get a few TV games and if we can keep our fanbase together with some entertaining football and hold the gates at 5-6000 you could probably run the club at a profit for 12 months....imagine that!

then again this is Notts and we're due a new owner and we never do anything sensibly

Profit you are joking right?

We need to spend to get nailed on promotion just like last season!

XD yeah new owner ,make a statement, buy our way to glory, what could go wrong

we've seen it all before so many times now we're all finding it funny rather than worrying

Are Florist seriously looking to do this? Shows a lack of class from them.

Particularly as it was largely down to us that they got voted into the league in the first place. We voted for them and apparently encouraged others to do so.
