We have all now comfortably settled into a frame of mind where we are looking down rather than up, so 1-1 would be a relatively good result.

Another defeat & we are heading into "oh no, not again, FFS" territory.

I've been with NA, as I think there are some/plenty mitigating circumstances. However, a loss and /or sh!te performance against Boreham, and I'll be plonking one foot in the out camp;he has a squad of 400 to pick from and they should be perfectly capable of dispatching the likes of them.

2-1 to BW.

Are we actually going to try to win the game or scab a draw.I think I know....

1st half : Notts take the lead, dominate possesion.

2nd half :Sit back and hope for the best and lose 2-1.

Another Ardley tactical masterclass.

Just seen Adley's pre-match interview. He's getting his excuses in early as usual, but then also saying 'these aren't excuses.'

No offence to Boreham Woord, but in my eyes there are no excuses for not getting a result tonight. It just means the manager isn't able to organise or motivate his players. Even with our injuries, we should have a decent enough squad to cope.

The reality is that we will be without our best centre half and best midfielder, so clearly that will have an impact on the team. Ardley is right to ask the question, can someone step up? Previous form suggests not, but I live in hope.

I'm really not feeling it tonight. Add to thast my neighbour across the road is a Boreham Wood fan and the grief I'm likely to get from him will be unbearable if we lose. Christ, I can remember when I used to feel like this about games vs Florist, Derby and Leicester never mind Boreham Fcuking Wood!

Hoping 1-1
Expecting 1-2 loss

Kean with a freak goal from his own box after the wind takes it over their keeper. Replaces Slocombe who pulls a muscle in the warm up.

This will be a test of Ardley's tactical nous. Several first-teamers injured means he will have to play some of his less favoured chaps and juggle them about a bit. Methinks Toots should be given his non-league debut, it just might surprise NA enough to include an ex-player-of-the-year in his future plans, after all, if we lose it won't be so unusual will it?

Personally I think there may be a clash of personalities with those two but if Toots turns out to be a hero NA will have a job on trying to justify dropping him. Tootle is a fans favourite whereas Ardley's stock is dropping with every game lost or drawn, and with each dismal performance and sad excuse.

Unless Tootle can play CB forget it, can't see him being picked ahead of Brindley.

Am I imagining it, or did Toots play as a holding midfielder when he first signed for us? I'm sure he could be useful somewhere.

Not sure I can remember that but even if he did it would be a very big ask for him to come straight into the team in that role having had next to no first team football for some time now.

Perhaps it would ncfcog, but every player has to have had "...next to no first team football for some time now" after being dropped, and that player when he's been picked will come "straight into the team". He can hardly come back into the first team gently or bit by bit can he?

I would agree Laxton but in his natural position which is right back. Tootle starting a game for us as a holding midfielder doesn't fill me with a great deal of confidence, not just because of him but how that would impact the rest of the team, formation and tactics.

He has played in midfield for us before, he knows the players, he desperately wants to play for Notts County. Any fresh player we bring in now will be an unknown needing time to "gel". Either way is a risk but I think loyalty should be rewarded.

By the way, "tactics"??

Hope it does get postponed. The chances of going down there and getting a result when management and players already have ready made excuses are zero.

Postponement seems most unlikely. They also mention that there's covered space aplenty for both home and away fans in case the elements do their worst...
