Preston v Swansea

After the demoralising defeat at relegation threatened Stoke last week, it's another away game, this time Preston, one point and one place above us in the table.
Long gone is our outstanding away form of earlier in the season, instead we struggle to score and concede soft goals.
Roberts is doubtful with a shoulder injury but Naughton is fit again. Key centre back vdHoorn has been missed badly, but will be out for another 3 weeks. Rodon made a comeback after injury last week at Stoke and will be hoping to continue.
Earlier in the season we beat Preston 3-2 at the Liberty and Cooper will be looking for a similar result at the weekend. New loan signing midfielder Gallagher, subdued at Stoke after being booked, needs to impress if we are to get anything tomorrow.

Watching Joe Allen control midfield last week was a bit of a worry. He waltzed through several players unopposed to set up Clucas for the first goal, a repeat of the home defeat. We need to assert ourselves better to control matches. Stop the passing sideways and passing back and show more attacking intent, possession alone doesn’t win matches. While we’re at it, practice free kicks and corners, over and under hitting balls from set pieces has become the norm lately.
I am not too confident about tomorrow, it depends on which Preston team turns up, their form has been up and down lately.

If we have any intentions of progress this season we have to start a winning run now.
We have an ideal chance of getting to the play-offs but need points on the board soonest and to find some consistency.
Cooper has issued a rallying cry to the troops, let’s hope they’ve heard him.

Rodon replaced Cabango and Naughton came in for the injured Roberts as the only changes from the Stoke defeat.
Preston boasted the best home record in the Championship so the draw was a satisfactory outcome.
As per normal nowadays we gift a goal to any ex-Swan playing against us, and so it was inevitable that Scott Sinclair, against the run of play, was allowed to waltz into the box and score after 28 mins.
Swans responded well and an Ayew shot parried by the goalkeeper enabled Brewster to fire home from short range for the equaliser on 33 mins.
A well earned draw, shame about last weeks defeat though, as we fell further behind a play off spot, now four points adrift.

A good draw in all fairness. Unfortunately because of the loss to lowly Stoke last week we needed a win yesterday.
The draw pushed both us and Preston further away from the play off spots, with us now being four points adrift after yesterday’s results.
Now we have to try and make up ground with two consecutive home games coming up. First here are Derby, rejuvenated since Rooney came in, he scored again in the 4-0 trouncing of Stoke last Friday night.
