View Full Version : Remaining fixtures.....

These are our remaining 15 fixtures, I reckon that we need 9 wins & a few draws to have a decent chance of automatic promotion but where are we getting them from:

Brentford (A)
Bristol City (H)
Reading (H)
Boro (A)
Hull (A)
Huddersfield (H)
Cardiff (A)
Fulham (H)
Luton (H)
Blackburn (A)
Stoke (H)
Swansea (A)
Barnsley (H)
Derby (A)
Charlton (H)

10 of those teams teams are currently outside of the top 10 & I see no reason why we can't win at least 9 of the 15 matches B)

Prediction :-

Brentford (A) - Loss
Bristol City (H) - Draw
Reading (H) - Win
Boro (A) - Draw
Hull (A) - Draw
Huddersfield (H) - Win
Cardiff (A) - Loss
Fulham (H) - Loss
Luton (H) - Win
Blackburn (A) - Draw
Stoke (H) - Draw
Swansea (A) - Draw
Barnsley (H) - Win
Derby (A) - Loss
Charlton (H) - Win

21 points, 76 for the season, scraping into the play-offs, and we all know what happens then.

And I think I'm being a tad optimistic about some of the draws. You have to go down as far as 14th in the table to find a team performing as we are at the moment over the last 5 games, those down to 8th much better.

Rev72

Current form suggests we will do well to win half of them fixtures which would give us 76 points-ish.

So that would see us in the play-offs.

Great.

Really good set of fixtures to finish with. I would only expect us to come up short against Cardiff or Fulham. I think we will beat Brentford & Bristol. Don't see any other matches where we would expect to be beaten.

[QUOTE=costa_blanca_white;39431305]These are our remaining 15 fixtures, I reckon that we need 9 wins & a few draws to have a decent chance of automatic promotion but where are we getting them from:

So we need 28 points to get the average for 2nd place, or 31 for a much better finish that will be a guarantee. Where will we get them?

Conservative reckoning below on these - gives 27. One draw turned to a win and we get 29 points. Beat Fulham at home and one other away that i've gone with a draw and we're there with something to spare.

Reading (H) 3
Boro (A) 1

Every other team looking at the remaining fixtures will pencil us in as a difficult game and play out of there skins. Every game is going to be a battle. We get our confidence back and remain focused on each game as it comes along. Hard to put one team above the other.

Durty durby away.....agree with pacaman seal our promotion down there, sweet justice/revenge :) who knows.

Like to see us getting back to clean sheets once more. Playing clubs towards the relegation zone with few games to left, always difficult and I see teams in trouble resorting to.....desperate times desperate measures always the battle.
Next four teams will play there guts out and more, Fulham depending how it stands will be up for it, interesting to see how we look after that lot.

Time to go on another run.

Good as his build up play is surely time to give a natural striker a go!

Conspiracy theory time.

Some added pressure for the last fixtures.

If the Covid-19 virus breaks out and they declare is a public emergency they probably shut down the season. The kill rate in Iran is now over 10% and some concern on mutation. who knows how many have died in China. The FA could lock up the table as it stands at that time.

even if it isn't declared an emergency but it breaks out in a teams locker room you could end up with a vastly depleted team. A big deal if the other team has not been hit.

Ok so we're ahead of my predictions i'm delighted to say. If we can win the next three (if!) before the Fulham game, that is huge - get a draw at least in that one. That would, by my reckoning, put us 10 or 11 points from promotion with 7 games to play....

Problem is Hull are without a win in 10 matches & we have tended to give " struggling teams " gifts on a pretty regular basis - hopefully we can stop that trend & come away with 3 points Today.

Don't want Charlton to go down myself, Love Lee Bowyer - The Racism thing was from one of his players who reported it to the ref during the game. so nothing Lee Bowyer or the club could do to prevent it. - Lenko is also a West Brom player so do we all hate them to?

Also to note West Brom, Fulham & Brentford have all got to play each other again plus Fulham are coming to ours next week. That decreases the points potential for all 3 as only 9 points available from those 3 games in which they play each other as opposed to 18 available had they been playing someone else!
