A must win game as former player/captain/manager of the Swans, Gary Monk, returns to the Liberty in charge of the Owls.
Swans are without experienced centre backs Hoorn and Rodon, both injured, and loanee centre back Wilmot has returned to Watford with injury, leaving us with two young rookie centre-backs Cabango and loanee Guehi to prop up our defence at a crucial time of the season.

Well after the Boro win expectations were high but we soon came down to Earth with a feeble capitulation at home against Luton. We scraped a draw at Millwall a few days later and today we face the Owls, fresh from defeat to West Brom In mid week..
With two inexperienced youngsters at the heart of the defence it will be a surprise if we have a clean sheet.

I almost fell asleep first half it was like a training game, no Swans shot on goal. This was the attacking game that Cooper promised?
A Brewster shot and an Ayew penalty gave us a comfortable lead.
As usual the Swans made the fans suffer. A cross in the box in the 94’ and 6’ 5” Nuhiu out jumped 5’ 8” Roberts to score. Panic stations last 3’ of injury time as the Owls forced two corners, but we held on.
Main thing today 3 points, also key defender van der Hoorn came on as sub, a welcome return after almost 6 months out.

I think the main thing yesterday was getting the 3 points. Well we achieved that and we move on. We have a problem with injuries to our central defenders but 8 corners and 10 shots later and it was just the one goal conceded. Great to see Mike back from long term injury, coming on as sub, and it’s given the team a a big boost.
The giant players in this division are in every team, and we do struggle against them. Nuhiu, the Owls goal scorer, being one of them yesterday as he towered over Roberts to head into the net.
