Sad news coming in, former Clarets centre half John Talbut has passed peacefully in his sleep.

What a great centre half for us,he had to wait a while to get in the team, but proved just how good a player he was.

I used to love the bloke.

He was just taking over from Tommy Cummings when I started watching.

Happy days.

RIP John.

Sad news indeed. I saw him play many times and he was a very uncompromising centre half. RIP John.

I used to love the local derbies, John Talbot and Fred Pickering at one end, Mike England and Andy Lochead at the other, all kicking lumps out of each other. They don't make them like that any more, he was a bit like Jack Charlton imo, he didn't take prisoners.

RIP John.
