Just watched this on Netflix. It certainly puts Ardley's failures at Notts into perspective.

Everyone on Earth should be made to watch this film. The situation is dire, but the message is hopeful. I don't want to be remembered as the most hated generation in the history of mankind.

I feel so sorry for this generation of Notts County supporters, never seen the greatness of notts county and Ardley will be remembered as the worst Notts manager ever, unless he quickly gets his act together ..

Thanks for the recommendation, I will check it out.
Most hated generation is where we are headed. Far too many people are duped into supporting the agendas of the rich and powerful (the corporations and the politicians and media they control). We all should be in opposition to them by now.

Spot on. I look open-mouthed at the world voting for politicians who are clearly causing harm to the majority in support of a few exceedingly rich people. Why can't the masses see it ? Even now they are talking about the pain down the road to balance the books when the welath of just one person (Bezos) would have paid for the entire UK COVID support effort. And the people who vote for this are on zero-hour contracts to make him richer !

Sadly the opposition have been played and are now far too pre-occupied with inter personal micro-aggressions to be an effective and credible alternative.

Yawn!

So you find the fact that we are slowly destroying the planet boring?

Something bad is bound to happen, either naturally or by war. You just have to look at the Russian mentality over Chernobyl to understand that they get everything wrong all the time. Even now. And thats before we address the Chinese. They will drag the world into hell.

When armageddon comes, either by war or environmentally, lets hope its a good one, that may sound strange. To address reality though is to acknowledge there are to many people.

What we can hope for is to still have technology available to us, and the ability to use it, so that wherever mankind is, it can still develop further, to the point of getting off this poisoned ball. And with a smaller population the ability to feed everyone, and the wisdom for war not to exist anymore.

It's the rise of the idiot.

The lunatic fringe has gone mainstream.

Trump is their president. He's legitimised refusal to accept reality.

Staggering isn't it?

People won't give a stuff about the future of the planet if they feel their children or culture will have no part to play in that future. Rightly or wrongly, there is the feeling that there is a more immediate danger to survival.
Putin was once asked if and why he would retaliate if the US decided to nuke Russia, his reply: "Of course, why would we want a world without Russia?". Would the British people accept being wiped off the face of the world if it meant life could go on? Whether or not they're being duped is another question, but I think that's where we're at right now.

Are you one of the 'too many people', Mr Psaw?

Thankfully, the inevitably of 'armageddon' notion is still the preserve of cranks, Jehovah Witnesses, seventh-day adventists and assorted nutters around the world.

Humanity's fate (astronomical disaster notwthstanding) is very much in its own hands, of course.
Although you can understand why such fatalism would please the powers that be. People who believe that crap are going to be no threat to them at all, unless they've received a message that they have to make it happen :)

Of course Sidders. I can see that i have offended your socialista principles, that we must do good no matter what the consequences are. The raw material that the world is feeding on wont last much longer.

Wild life is disappearing at an alarming rate.

The thinking of people of your persuasion is fatally flawed, but you will follow it regardless, and you wont apply logic, because it will invalidate a lifetime of belief. You, at any point, cannot apply a medicine to an illness, and a dying patient, even if it means the death of the patient.

As i said about the Russians, you will drag this planet into hell.

A severe cut back of people IS needed. Personally i would start with the Russians, and then nuke France. I am of course joking, but in medicine its called radiotherapy.
