It’s two years since we last played Man City and we’ll be looking to go one better this time. The Blues won in controversial circumstances 2-3 with an offside goal and a non penalty. VAR would have reversed those decisions but was not allowed for that match, despite the Liberty Stadium being equipped for it, because we were not a PL club.
There’s no VAR this time for us either, even though six of the eight ties in this FA Cup 5th Round will have it as they are Premier League grounds, only us and Barnsley miss out.
Surprisingly it’s being allowed in the next round, the Quarter Finals, for all teams.
Let’s not kid ourselves here though, we face a massive task trying to overcome a team that are 5 points clear at top of the PL table with 14 straight wins behind them and who a few days ago hammered last season’s PL Champions Liverpool 1-4 at Anfield.
We have bigger fish to fry with us challenging for promotion this season. Let’s give our squad players some game time tonight and concentrate on the league. We have a more important match to play in a few days time at Sheffield Wednesday, all focus should be on that. We can play Man City with our full team next season in the PL.

Joel Latibeaudiere will relish playing against his old club tonight as the Swans make five changes. Man City make seven changes from the team that faced Liverpool.

Half time 0-1 Walker 30’ a soft cross from our left, Manning too far away, turns so the ball doesn’t hit him (why?), ball goes past him, Woodman deceived, straight in the net, soft goal to concede.

Final score 1-3 and a more one sided match you’ll never see.
46’ Sterling, Jesus 49’
On 66’ Bidwell for Guehi,, Freeman for Roberts, Hourihane for Dhanda, Whittaker for Morris, Arriola for Lowe
Whittaker pulled one back on 77’ but that was it as Man City strolled the match to a conclusion.
Massive gulf in class and a disappointing showing from Swansea.

I was disappointed with our showing last night too. I thought both full backs were poor, our passing was poor and we looked scared to try anything adventurous. We couldn’t get the ball off them most of the time and when we did we lost it again with misplaced passes.
Our midfield was weak and there was no threat up front. There was no urgency from our players and it didn’t seem like a Cup tie. Altogether a night to forget and now let’s move on and concentrate on the league.
