Wasn't it on yesterday, where ATM machines have been paying short on the money asked for.

Just think how co-operative they would be and how much hassle you would have if it was £20 short

According to interweb

"If an ATM dispenses money to you in error, you should take it into the branch as soon as possible. Taking money that is not yours is a punishable crime."

However local branches are far and few between so ..............

Many moons ago a mate of mine was walking to work along Sheffield Road when a bag full of cash landed with a thud at his feet. What the heck? To cut a long story short, it turns out a shopkeeper (or similar, can't remember) had put it on the roof of his car and driven off, then it slid off going round the bend where the Dusty Miller is/was.

The bloke went to the cop shop and asked if anybody had handed in a bag with 500 smackers in it and unbelievably they said yes as my mate Dougie had indeed handed it in. I think the bloke gave him 20 quid, tight git.
