The club are arranging the purchase of a virtual ticket for the Celtic game. £5 per ticket. The game is on Sky, so the club won't be making anything from the PPV. Each ticket gets entry into a prize draw.

Didn't work for me yesterday , worked okay tho 5 minutes ago.

Not so sure about the manager-less Celtic. There has been something wrong there for quite a while now. "as well as other things" Lennon said in his last post match interview.

Kennedy is getting decent praise from some (seemingly) in the know. Big Brendan now admitting he was behind all his success there ;)

Shame too.... I quite fancied us having a good go at that defence, as we did in the Rangers match. Things might change now tho...

I was one of over 2000 in the Shankly where anything but a United win meant relegation would be confirmed and 100% of arabs knew we were going down after a midweek loss at firhill a couple weeks earlier, role's reversed there would be a three digit support for "the Dees" at Tannadice

Now back to winning the big cup, where did you watch the Scottish Cup final of 2010 and at what point did you switch it off?

Have you seen dundee lift a major honour?

I'm guessing there is no 'sold out' as such. They'll be adding the number sold to the number of season tickets and seeing how this compares to the capacity at Tannadice and as things stand it looks like a 'sell out'. No way they'll stop selling them though. :)

Edward, you should be wanting the Tims to win against us today so that you have the chance of winning the title at Parkhead in a fortnight's time. Many HUN -dreds of huns would surely prefer that to the huns winning the title today, surely not. Or is the desperation to put something in the trophy cabinet so great that logic is not a consideration?

lump yer mortgage on a celtic win

Clark in midfield does not f ucking work, same as McNulty in midfield does not f ucking work, playing the 2 of them with shanks does not f ucking work

MM and his f ucking favourites, Sporle, Appere, Chamler or Pawlett should start.

Level at half-time, defended ok but as much down to this Celtic team being poor. Have hardly posed a threat in the final third, McNulty keeps giving it away and Clark is like a headless chicken in that role, doesn't even offer anything defensively.

Read this and thought we were losing as haven't caught any of the match, checked and 0-0 half time, that will do, need to have that basis to try and win it later in game, that's a very dangerous team they have on despite the poor season

Don't agree with Clark playing as its not a good balance not sure what mm is thinking there, happy enough with Harkes instead of Pawlett though, Harkes had been good recently and set up a couple goals, was part of the ten man side that swept livi aside

Think Appere instead of McNulty would also help

2 men down because Clark is the same. It's genuinely torture to watch.

Thought we were out of this mess playing that horrific 532 with Clark and Harkes in midfield. They were both out the team, team looked better. Good point. I said before and I’ll say it again - staying up is the singularly absolute priority number one this season. I see that today as a good point that brings us ever closer to being officially clear, not as a failed attempt at top six. That should be a fair target for next year but not right now. Also as a word to MM - McNulty will not be here next season. We need to start building toward that with what we’re going to have as a playing squad. So that means starting Sporle, Chalmers, Appere etc...........

Some good points made there. I wasn't caring about who won the league , or that we didn't make top 6. All I was thinking about was not getting dragged in to a play-off situation, which seems unlikely now.

Not a perfect season for numerous reasons, but happy to re-group for next season.

MM has done well under the circumstances, but also has frustrated the fans by not seeing what nearly everyone bar him has.

Agreeing now that McNulty and Harkes are passengers. Clark also (unless played in his best position)

One thing worried me (well more than one) But.... hearing MM continually shouting "get to the ball, get to the ball" Which in most cases the player didn't quite do that. Do they need reminded ???? That is basic futba, and they are professional players.

Yeah definitely glass half full. We've shown signs that we could be a very good side.
With the right additions we will be. We're fitter, stronger and much more competitive now, and the tempo and intensity is far better so all credit to the manager.

But.....we could have been 0-3 by half time with that team selection and it's really a big concern that Micky thought it was the right one. So maybe it's a learning curve for him too.

So f*cking frustrating. Why is it so obvious to us but not the manager?

It's a mystery to most fans but I think Micky selects Harkes because he feels the player will offer defensive cover across the 18 yard line and might offer a through ball when we're attacking. But mainly a defensive mindset.

The problem is that Harkes isn't good enough at either, so is completely wasted in the majority of games. His first touch is really poor a lot of the time as well. But Micky just thinks defend defend defend. Then Harkes drops in the odd decent game and the circle continues. I like Ian Harkes, seems like a great lad but right now it's not working.

Clark in midfield is the one that really is mindboggling though. Everyone can see it except the manager.

Agree that Chalmers and Appere did well. It is like comparing apples with pears though. The game was very different by then. Celtic leaving lots more space as they ineffectively chased the game. That allowed acres for Chalmers and Appere to try and exploit. That space just wasn't there in the first half. Think some of the criticism of individuals is overly harsh. Too simplistic to suggest starting that the team that finished would have been better. Instead we should praise Mellon for altering approach to the game as it itself altered. The game itself altered because of the good work our starting 11 did, whilst playing against a top team who were having the best performance of their season.

Would be handing out a lot of credit today rather than criticise anyone. To be disappointed not to have snatched a win shows the progress of our squad as a whole.

Never turn down any points v Celtic but certainly a missed opportunity with the last 20mins Although we could have easily lost it aswell so cant grumble too much.

The lineup to start with was poor. Back to forcing Clark/Shankland/McNulty into the team which hasn't worked all season but doesn't stop MM from persisting with it. Playing in a diamond gives away plenty of space on the wings hence why Laxalt and Kenny saw so much of the ball. It also meant a hell of a lot of work for the midfield who were having to cover so much ground to cover the FB's.

They started very strong and it was really a easy for them. If they had scored in the first 20mins i think we would have got a doing but thanks to poor finishing and some good defending/Benji being on form we managed to get it to 0-0 at the break. We started to come into the game once the subbies came on. Having legs and players with more intent meant we could cause them more problems and could have easily nicked a goal. They also started to get more and more frustrated. As the game got more stretched, you could see united possibility sneaking a goal even though they did miss some big chances too.

Notes
1. McNulty is a waste of a jersey. lack of interest/quality
2. Clark isn't midfielder. (not like no one has said this)
3. Appere should be given a proper run in the team up top with Shankland.
4.Good to see chalmers back (And the update on glass before the game is coming along nicely)
5. Defence and Gk were brilliant. (DONT GO CHANGING IT MELLON!)

Overall it probably means the top 6 is done with but all things considering if we can secure safety then happy days then look towards next season.

As for The Rangers, she has no recollection of their fans gathering outside Ibrox yesterday, and she keeps asking herself how she cannot recollect their supporters breaking covid regulations (only 47 to go!). Furthermore, she has stated that if she does not do something on a daily basis she soon forgets what it is she is supposed to be doing!

I thought we looked dangerous yesterday late on and would love to see Appere and Chalmers start as wingers in the Aberdeen game. Fuchs suspended so put Pawlett and Harkes in beside Butcher and press them high. One more win and we're probably safe so lets get it before the split and enjoy the last few games of the season while others are desperate for points. I'll take 10th right now but I think we will end up 8th. We've never been lower than 8th all season so lets not start it now.

Celtic were atrocious yesterday, there for the taking. Your manager didn’t seem able to take advantage, with a squad of decent enough players. Fuchs, Siegrist, shankland are just 3. Improvements in the second half so he must have some coaching ability but still unable to take advantage of a poor Celtic who ,lets be honest, wanted to lose to avoid it happening next week.

I’m surprised there is not any mention of this, you should be in the top 6 in my opinion. First season back up can offer him some excuse. We got used to seeing dundee United having good runs in the cup every year since I can remember but it’s been a while since that so perhaps this could be the saving of him.

This ^^^, and not have to walk past them at the end of a game waiting for one of the orcs to hit someone. The 2010 Scottish cup final where there was no arse cheeks involved, is one of my favourite football memories. Walking down the road with opposition fans and everyone talking football and not fekin religious bigotry.

I’m deeply saddened to hear that. I think if you are being honest, you can all admit the rangers have got loads of decent fans, yes there is a vocal minority who try to push their political views and they are the real bigots.
I know dundee is a big yes city like glasgow. Loads of bears are supporting independence, at least 50% anyway. And majority are certainly not into bigotry. And there may be some banter during games but never seen bother after them (unlike the scum fans, who have no respect for any other fans in Scotland) You can easily tell, whenever you get a result against Celtic you are in danger of violence and real vicious attack. If you get a result against rangers, we accept it and move on. Best of luck with the Scottish cup :-)

That’s the spirit. Always a great atmosphere against new firm clubs and we accept the abuse and hate as banter. It’s always a safe enough atmosphere after the game. I wouldn’t be so sure about the fiddlers though, they seem to think they are the greatest fans in the world and yet I feel genuine worry for anyone who is subjected to their company after a defeat.

The majority of septic fans are not nice in any way but are no where near the bigots in total horribleness vile vile support who hate everyone who is not the people and blame everyone else for their vileness the old rancid club encouraged their bigotry and hatred and sevco are no better.I guess they probably do have a few decent supporters but not sure if any decent supporter would want to be assosiated with their bigotry and hatred.

All these pictures are inadmissible I'm afraid as this was during the time of the old Rangers - they area new club now so you can't ask them about anything that happened before 2012. Unless it's the league titles that were won by the old club - they're having those!

Like I've said before - they want to wash their hands of any negative history surrounding the old club but all the positive history, like trophies and titles won.

Just checked and it was 20 years ago to the day - Scottish cup match at Tannadice when we beat the old Rangers 1-0 (Dave Hannah)

I remember driving through town on my way to the game, passing the West Port bar and seeing two Rangers buses parked outside, along with various police vehicles and police officers trying the get the Rangers lot out of the bar and back on the buses.

I only found out the following day that my sister was working in the West Port that night. She worked in Dundee bars for years so trust me, she's no snowflake.

She never worked in a bar again after that night.

But yeah, thoroughly decent people…

Well I’m genuinely surprised if you have worse experiences from bears than tims. I know there was some bad vibes between our clubs recently but even during the banter years, I’ve only experienced good banter and agreement between us about the filthy lot being bad losers. I hope you inflict a few defeats on them and then you can see how they react. It is worth noting that we have been on the receiving end of several defeats from yous in recent years and not been any trouble as far as I’m aware. Obviously every club had its drunken idiots and Manchester was indeed a very drunken affair. If you know their History

1972 European Cup Winners' Cup Final

While it was argued that the pitch invaders may simply have been celebrating victory prematurely due to the misinterpretation of the final whistle (the referee had blown for a throw-in) the Dynamo Moscow team believed that the pitch invasion was a calculated action by the fans designed to stop the Soviet side's momentum. In the final minutes, Dynamo were pressing hard to equalise but the sudden pitch invasion gave the Rangers defenders respite. Colin Stein later reflected on the game and stated that he believed the pitch invasion made it harder for the Rangers side during the final minutes of the game. Dynamo players claimed that they were attacked during this invasion, while bottles were thrown at police, whose actions have been described as heavy-handed.

After the game's final whistle there was a larger pitch invasion by Rangers supporters and as a result of this the trophy was presented to Rangers captain John Greig inside the stadium buildings.

If you know their History

I personally was at the Newcastle game in May 1969

Intercity Fairs Cup semi-final

The Bears knocked down an exit gate to gan access. Others climbed over the walls.

Newcastle United 2 Glasgow Rangers 0

After the second goal the badly behaved Rangers supporters flooded the pitch up to the half way line in an attempt to stop the game.

After the match the trashed the city centre. I personally saw a Newcastle supporters bus being overturned with people still trying to get out.

Manchester was indeed a very drunken affair. Well organised or not and yes quite a few people did let themselves down and didn’t represent very well that day. They didn't represent themselves well in many town and cities in Scotland if their team lost. Birmingham against Aston Villa wasn't a good day either for the Bears. I am sure you recall that one too.

Best forget the Glasgow Rangers History and start afresh.

If you know their History

Best forget the Glasgow Rangers History and start afresh.
On Saturday, October 9 1976, Villa Park and Birmingham city centre suffered some of the worst scenes of football hooliganism ever witnessed on this patch.

It occurred during a so called ‘friendly’ match between Aston Villa and Rangers which had to be abandoned on 53 minutes when crowd trouble erupted.

Using the Sports Argus and Sunday Mercury reports from that weekend, Mat Kendrick looks back at what was dubbed “Sick Saturday”.

Eye witness account

“I watched as a young fan was knocked to the ground and kicked unconscious by up to ten assailants on the Villa Park pitch.

It was the most sickening episode I saw in the midst of disgraceful scenes which caused the abandonment of the match between Aston Villa and Glasgow Rangers after 53 minutes.”

Anyway i attempted to reply to a post on Ann's thread and it was in defence of Retired Arab who in my opinion is NOT a failed teacher. Some of the shyte he was subjected to would have led me and many others to follow the path he did.
I also cannie really understand why he has been banned from here either as the board was certainly busier with him posting. It was also shameful when posters turned up out of the blue demanding that people like Peter should be banned but in general they contributed F ALL to board apart from demanding his ban and heads to roll when United lost.

Has the Ann Budge thread been closed down?.Its the only reason i logged back in until i noticed the shyte posted by our new resident Hun.
Anyway i attempted to reply to a post on Ann's thread and it was in defence of Retired Arab who in my opinion is NOT a failed teacher. Some of the shyte he was subjected to would have led me and many others to follow the path he did.

Yes it has. The man's a troll. He starts threads for a reaction, sits back and watches everyone get pissed off, fails to respond to any kind of discussion regarding the thread that he's started, belittles certain individuals while at the same time playing some kind of victim of personal abuse. The board was busier but who wants to read the sh*te that his threads turn out to be? They end up not being about Utd but about him, which is exactly what he wants. He posts the same discussion points, word for word, on various different platforms hoping for the same result. It's not the first, second or tenth time he's done it and quite frankly, we're sick of it and will not stand for it.

Personally I'd far rather this hun @rsehole and his patronising p1sh and bullsh1t was barred rather than Arabs, no matter whether people agree with their views or not.

Moderation of this board is a piece of piss for everyone except those that need to do it. Personally I don't want this to become a place only Arabs post to. All opinions are welcome but if someone is constantly and blatantly trolling, whoever they support, they'll be dealt with. It's happened before and it'll happen again.

agreed, the hun, Peter et al, all welcome as long as it's not trolling looking for reactions.

Peter has been warned a few times in the past but he's harmless and TB has posted here on and off for years and takes the stick well, plus we have plenty others who post here that are not 'arabs'

Personally I'd have them all away to f*ck, but thats just my opinion. 😁

No idea why a supporter of another team would want to post on a rival clubs board.

Just for the crack mate

Plus financial mad is f ucked and scottish fitba got rid of all the arseholes so posters naturally want to post on one of the biggest and most popular 'mad' forums
