In German it means my struggle. Reading the posts here, it shows the degree of suffering you all experience, a struggle, like Hitlers struggle to enlighten the world. Its a shame he was a bit mistaken.

Do you realise that there is no pathway to the higher leagues anymore.? Look at Forest, Wednesday, Middlesborough etc, they have no chance of impacting on the premier league. There are countless big clubs like that.

The best County can hope for is the Peterborough path, a brief visit to the championship. Does this matter to you?. It matters to me, in fact it renders the whole thing pointless.

Why suffer over it. The best thing you can hope for is an entry into the logs of winners of div 4 that will be forgotten. Who remembers who won div 3 south in 1963?

Why do you care so much?. Your not involved. You are not a player, director, coach, or family member of the above, they care. They have all the fun, you stump up and watch. County winning or losing is not a comment on the worth of Nottingham, is it. The best you can hope for is to bask in a reflected glory that doesnt exist, but you will pay a fortune for it.

There is always another game with an imaginary carrott at the end of it, or a hamster on its wheel. Win or lose, it carries on. Its a ritual.

Genuine competition does not exist, County will never win the fa cup or the prem. The prem winners buy the title, if county win the league, its because they bought it, you dont have enough money to go above div 3, or if you do it would be brief.

How you make sport into sport again i dont know, football is a business, and you pay to keep it like that. If you lived in ancient Rome, you would not put a 5 foot 3 gladiator up against a 6 foot five giant, the crowd would boo it.

But football does it all the time, and you think its ok. Everyone must stand a chance, ritual slaying is ugly.

Your struggle is unnecessary, a wasted emotion, wasted money, your bond with county laughable, and like Hitler, you are mistaken. Stop funding shooting fish in a barrel, stop hoping for the impossible.

Nobody, because there wasn't a Div 3 south in 1963.

Northampton Town won the Third Division that year on their way to making it to the top flight. Clubs who've made it to the top probably have more of a sense of history, purpose and genuine hope than those that don't. They matter more than Cambridge do for example.

Umm, what's Hitler and 'Mein Kampf' got to do with any of this? It's all about the journey, Psee-Psaw.

The single most embarrassing thing about being a Notts Co. supporter is, without doubt, how incredibly lame this board's resident troll is. My cat is better at this than Psaw! Honestly mate, don't start a gun fight if all you're armed with is a spoon.

I think the opposite!

Most trolls on football message boards only come armed with a bunch of expletives and/or have such a poor command of language that it's difficult to understand what they've written, let alone be insulted or annoyed by it.

Psaw brings a degree of intelligence and humour to the party. It's trolling with a knowing wink, rather than pointless, illiterate bile. I think the fact he frequents our board is something of a compliment to the quality of our posters, whether he intends it or not. >:)

I'm looking forward to hearing from your cat though! :D

If Bournemouth can reach the Premier League and Wigan can win the FA Cup, then dozens of smaller Clubs, including Notts, are entitled to hope for success. Admittedly, these are once in a blue moon events, but they prove that the possibility is there.

I am a bit put out that you think im winding you up, thats thanks to Chalky. In fact this message may elongate some peoples lives, and maybe save some.

I am sure you are all familiar with stress, anxiety of all kinds, depression, avoidance, worrying, and distress. All this leads to sweating, tense muscles, lack of appetite, physical illness, cancer, prostate problems, ibs, you name it, stress will cause it or make it far worse.

These things can be addressed, and almost immediately alleviated, thats a shocker isnt it. Its a book called The Subtle Art of not giving a F**k. Its by Mark Manson with a sub title of A Counter Intuitive approach to Living a Good life. Its on Amazon.

You can only give so many f**** in one life before you begin to suffer.

It deals with paradoxes, which those who dont understand that, it means doing the opposite has the desired affect.

As for football, something died when Cambridge went non league, and after that the football was dire. There was a four game stretch where United got one shot on goal.....which was saved. Do i want that?, no. The paradox is that when i stopped supporting United, they started winning.

The day you stop flogging a dead horse, things change, and im not talking about football.

Your welcome.

It's the hope that kills. Which is kind of Psaw's point. I think.
