Match day again.
In / Oot - As per norm for me.
Furryboots - ma hoose (red tv int)
Pre - Grafting
Post - straight to ma scratcher.

Prediction - It's a wee while since I had such a confident feeling heading into a match, going for a very comfortable 3 or 4 nil to the good guys, Ferguson and Brown both on the scoresheet with one each and with one or a double from Ramirez.

Furryboots - Hoose
Pre - Red TV but probably switching to BBC when I get fed up of Rob McLean
Post - Work night but might stretch to beer/red wine
Prediction - Bit worried about this as there has been too much positivity over the past week which usually ends up with a boot in the baas. The guy we aren't signing will probably stand out grrr

Funnily enough I always think the opposite about these rookie refs. I would far rather have someone looking to impress the ref supervisor by quietly going about his business than have a Collum or Madden who are only interested in being the centre of attention and end up giving stupid penalties or red cards that just smack of "look at me - I'm the boss"

Ever since Saturday there's been lots of chat about we've got a run of games now where we can pick up points. I heard that earlier on this season and then we lost lots of games. I hope the team aren't going into this game with the view we'll win and not put in the required effort... because that is what it looks like. Started slow and then showed buggger all

Passing without purpose is a disease. Nobody wants to be the one who loses possession so the passes become less and less impactful and more and more backwards and safe. Utter garbage. Subs awful. Cannot play with Brown, Ojo, Ferguson, Jenks all in the middle and all offering zero drive or impetus. Hedges is poor and anyone wanting to pay good money for him should be welcomed. Ferguson has contributed very very little for a long time. Ramirez completely wasted up there by himself with no service. Glass is a major worry. Next three games could be similar.

That was an absolutely atrocious performance. Two shots on goal the whole game?! This is, frankly, a mid-table team aside from the occasional “blip” in performances. The subs showed why they have not been in the first team all season … Jet’s clearly still on the Xmas leftovers; Kennedy is shiiite and McLennan isn’t a footballer. Why do we bother!?

irnbru1903
25-01-2022, 09:57 PM
The lack of urgency in the transfer market when we have so many areas needing improved is infuriating. Bringing in guys that we can't play while fobbing us off with Devlin, Kennedy, McLennan, Ojo, McGeouch, JET, Gallacher, Jenks. Next we will go in for St Johstones third choice striker on loan for the rest of the season to really compound the pisstake.

We are a man down when JET is playing. He was all over place last night and almost every touch of the ball he had was a mistake. He must be doing something special in training. McLennan is not much better. It has been evident for a long time that both players are just not good enough. Still think there is potentially a decent player in Kennedy but his decision making is a problem.

I'd welcome bad money at this point.

I can understand why Blackburn would want to sign him now to help get promotion to the Premier League as I see him as a decent Championship level player. But what do they do with him if they get promoted (they are currently second and on a good run so a real possibility) as he is miles away from being a Premier League level player? Likely away on loan somewhere? Likewise if they only sign him on a pre-contract and they get promoted. No big deal for Blackburn to write-off any small amount of money spent on Hedges if they are promoted but Hedges might end up in a bit like no-mans land albeit on wages that he may be happy enough to pick up and play very little football.

The St Mirren match on Tuesday, followed by the next three games, were apparently going to be games where we should be able to pick up close to maximum points from. The absolute maximum we can get now is 75% but in all honesty I think that we might be lucky to get five points from the next three games. We’ll see how things pan out but just as we are close enough to 4th place, the three or four teams below us are breathing down our necks too! Can’t see us catching Hearts either.

Agree with that summary Sneckie. He's not been good enough and is unlikely to get much better.
We have had a number of these good game signings recently Kennedy, ST J away he scored 1-0 or 1-1? Main the semi, Emmanual Thomas (well 2 good games last season) and it doesn't seem to work. I am more encouraged by this windows signings (looks like 2 good ones) and to be fair to Glass , he was left with an awful lot of dead wood to get shot of from one of the most unbalanced squads ever. There's been a lot of very bad performances this season but we seem to have lost the majority of these games having dominated possession/the game and then let in almost 100% of the shots on goal (not always Joe's fault but a fair few were)
I've been encouraged by Glass despite some god awful results, and the fact that every manager signs folk that don't work out -Gurr -
