Finally we are playing Lincoln at home (touch wood )

Hopefully no new injuries for us (take a deep breath it’ll be training day today?)

Surely Kayode can be used

Lincoln had a player sent off, Norton- Cuffy (winger) on Saturday

They’ve been having a blip but don’t take any notice of that, we need to attack and get a goal straight away to give the lads some confidence but please don’t sit back and INVITE PRESSURE

Be Loud and proud

Will make - or break - our season. I want to be really positive and say we'll get two wins but why have I got this nagging feeling we'll not. That Ladapo miss v MK will come back to haunt us. Back to our next two games though, let's face it, if we can't beat Lincoln and Shrews at home we probably don't deserve promotion..COME ON MILLERS!!!!!!

Lincoln City looking to get a emergency loan goalkeeper in for tomorrow night,
with Sheffield United goalkeeper Jake Eastwood being a name mentioned.

Lincoln City used 23 year old 2nd string goalkeeper Jordon Wright, in first start
game on Saturday, in their 2-0 away win at AFC Wimbledon.
Jordon Wright bought from Nottingham Forest in the January 2022 transfer
window.
Has posted by Millertop - Lincoln City had right back Brooke Norton-Cuffy sent

off this season.
Other sending off's - Arsenal under 23's for handball, England under 18's for
2nd yellow card.

4-5-1 rest of season let's face it Smudger only fit forward we have good enough. Warney as he's done before will rest Wood & Chioe. Vickers; Edmunds Green Ihiekwe Angus Harding; Tu tu Rathbone Barlaser Wiles Miller; Smith. I'm confident in that side to do the business if starting Tu tu not working Chioe to bring on.

Chieo.

Yes I know playing Chieo up front at Wycombe didn't work, service into the front two was poor and besides Lincoln are a different proposition, they will come trying to play football which should make for a decent game.
Lincoln on occasions have played 4-3-3 away from home, if they do that formation will cause us trouble at the back.
Noticed JJ had strapping on his knee whilst warming up at Wycombe, maybe just precautionary.
I wouldn't be surprised if JJ starts v Lincoln with Chieo in his usual right sided position.

Here's mine pal. Sorry but I don't think either Wiles are Chieo work with Smudge. Not ideal but JJ has to start up front so the side gets it's true balance back. We are totally out of synch playing non forward players with Smudge and it HAS to change.

Lincoln City appealing Brooke Norton-Cuffy sending off, so he can play against
the Millers if successful.

Having reviewed the video, Colin Appleton said he would appeal as BNC was not the aggressor but admitted there had been some pushing. Well I have reviewed the video and I will be very surprised if it gets overturned. 1. Reacting to foul play is not allowed and 2. He butted the player. The video clearly shows this. Fortunately he did not make clean contact but the intent was there.

Whilst 3-5-2 has been brilliant for us this season PW, and all of us, would do well to remember that we aren't contractually tied into it. Crying out for a 4-3-3 imo.

Can keep our midfield 3. Chieo and Miller can push on and offer support to Smudge whilst knowing they have support behind them from Fergie and Wes. Lose a CB but worth it imo to tweak and get dangerous players further up the pitch, more consistently.

I only count 4 Defenders pal, thing is there ain't much more to choose from unless Warney wants to bring Gratton into the fold.

The team I’ve chosen is well balanced and allows us to revert to wing attack play that hopefully smudge and JJ can thrive off. We need an early lead and to build on it if possible.

Warney it's looks to me likes at least 2 players with height at the back. I agree with that in this league mostly route 1 tactics. 4-5-1 got to be. Edmunds Green Ihiekwe Angus Harding at the back.

Which one don't you see as a defender? It can't be McDonald Ike or mattock... So leaves Bola and fergy. Both of which were brought in as LWB or LB and prob played most of the past games as defenders. You can mean tutu? Bought as a RWB He's not even a winger nemind a defender

Whichever team we put out, we need to keep the pressure on for the full 90 and avoid any complacency. Too often lately we have dominated the first half only to come out in cruise control for the second and it has bitten us.
For example:

Morecambe home- Early goals, looked like an easy night. Morecambe got right back into it though and we rode our luck. Hung on for the win in the end but really didn't need to put us through the blood pressure raise!
Shrews away- Ok maybe we weren't exactly dominant first half but we were in control. Don't think Shrews even had an attempt on goal until the second half, at which point they went for it and pinned us back. Somehow we scraped a draw.
MK Dons- Yep, it finally caught up with us at the most crucial time. First half we were well in control. Apart from Dons one on one with Vickers in the first minute I don't think they got into our half again. 1-0 up, they were down to ten men and we were feeling confident. I think our lads must have had a brandy and cigars at half time thinking the job was done, Dons had other ideas and really punished us.

We have been at our most effective when we have put teams under the cosh for the full 90. The first half of the season and the great run we went on featured this style of play. I remember saying to those around me at the game it felt so nice this season to not have that feeling of dread once we took the lead. Something has changed. Whether its down to injuries or conserving energy or a creeping feeling of complacency, I am not sure. But we have slipped back into that "score a goal then sit deep in low gear" mode. We did it against Shrews without even scoring the bloody goal!

We haven't scored from open play in our last three league matches so we need to get that attacking mojo back and keep at it. Lincoln are no mugs, they play some good stuff and they won't be scared of us. They'll be looking at our last three league games and thinking there are cracks in the foundations and will fancy an upset. They'll bring a decent crowd who will make a lot of noise to spur their team on for the win. At this pivotal stage of the season we just cannot afford for that to happen.

Looking at the first five results there cayton I'm thinking, "how on Earth are they down in 16th place in the league, and just eight points clear of a relegation place?" They also beat US 2-0 the last time they came to town. It is worrying. We need to be at our best.
