Yorkshire television have shown the unveiling of a blue plaque on the house where the Robledo brothers grew up in Rotherham.George Robledo's daughter flew over from Chile for the unveiling ceremony.

They showed George scoring the winning goal in the Toons 1-0 win over the Gooners in 1952.

What was he like as a player, Sherwood-did you see him play?

I was too young too see a lot of him but the clips I've seen of him he was an old fashioned centre forward in the Nat Lofthouse style. One season I think he beat Hughie Gallaghers goal scoring record with over 30 in all competitions. At school all the talk was of Milburn in 1951 and Robledo in 1952. When he moved to Chile he played for Colo Colo and his country in the World Cup and was highly thought of.

Cheers, man. Wonder how much those players would be worth at today's prices.

Between 1949 and 1953 he scored 86 League goals the most by any foreign born player until beaten by Dwight Yorke over 40 years later.

Their English mother had brought the brothers to Yorkshire when they were still young, while at the Toon George was selected to play for Chile in the 1950 World Cup even though he didn't speak Spanish.

Both were very good players for us. I was only a te-enager when I saw them but they were very impressive and top team players.

A lot of people felt that Ted was just an add-on to persuade George to come to the Toon but he was good in his own right.
