Gillingham Football Club Statement.
The board of Gillingham F.C. have confirmed on several occasions over the past year,
that they are seeking new investment into the football club.
This investment could take the form of new ownership, part share sale or medium /
long term loans.
The board are currently in discussion with several credible parties, however as is normal
in such circumstances, these discussions are confidential & fall under dual party NDA's
[ non disclosure agreements ].
But - An article published yesterday on the BBC website, which has now been corrected,
contained material inaccuracies which have risked damaging the above process, this
matter is now in the hands of the clubs lawyers.
The board remain committed to finding a positive solution for the future benefit of the
football club & its stakeholders, at this stage no further comments can be made
regarding specific parties.
It would seem the BBC have put their foot in it, & could cost them money if Gillingham's
lawyers get their teeth into a claim for the club, especially if interested parties pull out
of investing in the club.
